Parking Warden
by grandmaR
When we parked (parking is expensive and we never found the parking garage back of Cave Shepherd) on the street, a man in uniform came up and told us we had to pay. I'm not sure but I think he was some type of traffic warden.
Either that or a pan-handler in uniform.
Pork, Pork and more Pork

Lemon Arbor, a little rumshop, behind a house, in St. Johns, with a spectacular view from an open deck of a sugar plantation.
Serves cheap alcohol, all the locals are friendly and welcoming, and may even buy you a drink even if they are meeting you for the first time.
The pork. To die for. BBQ, Fried, Pickled (souse). Mouthwatering.
People from all walks of Barbadian life come here. One place where the classism and racism disappears.
Perfect spot for a relaxing Saturday evening if not going to the beach.
Bridgetown - Capital of vibrant Barbados
by MikeAtSea
With a vibrant rhythm and rich culture, Bridgetown, located in the parish of St. Michael is, in fact, one of the oldest cities in the English speaking Caribbean and has amassed an impressive collection of historical buildings and landmarks.
Also known as the heartbeat of Barbados, it is famous for its wide array of world-renowned jewellery stores, boutiques, gift shops and souvenir shops and home to several banks, malls and restaurants.
The points of interest include Mutual Life Assurance Building, Heroes Square, the Nelson Statue, the Montefiore Fountain, the Parliament Buildings and the Wickham Lewis Boardwalk, where couples love to take photos with the Careenage as a backdrop.
In preparation for the Cricket World Cup 2007, which is being hosted by Barbados and several other islands of the British West Indies, the Government of Barbados is currently carrying out a major redevelopment project for the city.
BRIDGETOWN - THE CAPITAL
by luke850
Bridgetown is the capital of Barbados. It is quite small and not a very modern capital city, which is by no means a bad thing! This is where the majority of shops are in Barbados, and the the least tourist orientated place on the island. Please check out my Barbados pages for travel tips on the island.
