A real 'home from home'.

I came to Belize in 2007 and booked in at the Red Hut Inn for three weeks. I ended up staying for the entire length of my stay in the country - two months. Though not centrally located, there are enough good quality roads in Belize making most of the major tourist attractions just a few hours drive from the Hotel.

Situated in a quiet, safe neighborhood, which was a Foreign Embassy enclave before the capital was relocated to Belmopan, the hotel provides a good level of amenity and comfort for a competitive price. The room rate includes cable TV with 120 channels, WIFI internet access, en-suite bathroom and air-conditioning. There's a large sun deck where the owner, Lewis, serves his own, unique style of Caribbean cooking should you wish to take your meals at the hotel. His wife, Julia, keeps everything running smoothly and can help you with anything you might need to know or want to do while you're in Belize.

I've returned to Belize several times since my first visit. I always stay at the Red Hut Inn and usually rent one of their vehicles.

Unique Quality: The atmosphere is marvelous! Visitors become honorary family members for the duration of their stay and nothing is too much trouble. I've even met people who booked at an expensive hotel in the city then moved to the Red Hut Inn just for the ambiance.

Don't Stay Here!

If you are a woman, DO NOT STAY HERE! My sister and I stayed there in 2007 and she was sexually assaulted by the owner, Luis. We are currently back in Belize for the trial. These are not people that you want to entrust with your safety. Please be careful.

Best in personality

The place was great, but most exceptional when it comes to the hospitality. The owners are great. Julia and Lewis, are great and helpful while we stay there. The rooms are comfortable, and the place is quiet and safe, we did not have any worries there as what some comments we have seen online saying Belize City was not safe, but I guess it is just the area you are. Where The Red Hut Inn is it is safe as far as I am concern.

Anyhow, just want to spred the good words of the hotel, it is a great little place to be!
