More about Pedro's Hotel
The best place to stay
this by far is the most fun place to stay on the whole island of San Pedro. It is a smaller place just off the beach. Peter, the owner, is there to make sure your every need is taken care of. And this is whether you need tour arrangements or just local recomendations. If Peter is not around then Walter and the rest of the staff will be more than happy to take care of you. The pizza is the best on the island and I don't think you could find a more fun bar to hang out after a long day. You can play pool, WII Nintendo, poker in the back room, good music and drink more Yegermister than you can handle(if that is your drink). The rooms are clean and cool (if you get the aircon) and you won't find a better price in all of San Pedro. I can't wait to come back and hang out with the folks at Pedros.
This is a great place to stay, don´t bother going anywhere else!
This place is excellent value for those who want to stay on Ambergris but don´t want to spend a fortune. The owner, Peter, is friendly and helpful, as is Walter. You will be made more than welcome. They also make the best pizza on the whole island! It´s friendly, relaxed, and only a 10min walk to the centre of town. Loved it.
The Greatest Value
Purported to be the only hostel in Belize, Pedro's Inn is the place for you if you want a base to operate from and a clean place to sleep rather than a lot of amenities. I was there off-season (October) and only paid US$12.50 a night for a private room...and I had a brand new mattress!
Pedro's pizza is really the best on Ambergris Caye and that's not just hype. The only real amenity at Pedro's is the bar which also has free internet and free billiards. The bar is a center of social life for a segment of the British and Canadian expat community who have settled on Amergris Caye and own many of its businesses. If you stay long enough (I was there 10 days) you can penetrate a bit into this community and have some interesting conversations.
Pedro's Inn is a bit off the beach but an easy walk to any of the high priced hotel beaches where you can use their hammocks, lounge chairs, snorkle gear, etc. -- at least you can off season. I don't know about when they are full of tourists.
And, Pedro, Peter Lawrence, the proprietor can arrange any day trips or excursions for you and get you the lowest possible cost. The whole staff is friendly and helpful. If I ever go back to Belize, I'll definitely stay at Pedro's Inn.
"if you try sometimes you might find, you get what you need"
My buddy David and I spent 7 days on the island and stayed in one of Peter's Delux rooms (two beds, sink, shower, AC, toilet, wireless internet which we never used - nor did we use our phones!). The room is simple, clean, and convenient to the beach.
We were interested to see what other more expensive resorts were like right on the beach so we ventured into one while it was being cleaned.
I can tell you that there is very little difference between what you get a Pedro's Inn and one of the many resorts sitting right on the beach. Each day we woke up, we had a 2 minute walk across the street to the beach.
Peter provided great advise, consultation on fire coral burns/stings, and is a very receptive and accomodating person. As the owner/
inventor of the Inn, he takes all comments into consideration IMMEDIATLY and will change anything he can to meet your needs.
We will be sure to stay at Pedro's Inn every time we land on the Isla Bonita - San Pedro.
Nice clean place
A good place to stay on the island. English owner Peter has got new room with fans, hammocks and a pizza plaze.
A tranquilo place to hang around.

Beer, Pizza & Jägermeister
It is what it is. If you are a college student looking for a cheap place to stay and don’t mind drunk old British dudes and horse stall style accommodations, this place is for you. It is a long walk from everything, and the private rooms are not worth the money. You can find nicer, private room accommodations closer to the beach for the same price. Pizza is okay; the management was working on a Jagermeister wall during our stay. Not too professional but laid back! It is located next to the airstrip so plan on waking up early. Just about a plane an hour in the morning and evening.
Great Value, Lots of Personality
I stayed at Pedro's for a month and had a few different friends visiting me while I was there. We all had a blast and agreed that it was an excellent place to stay. For the money that you pay, it's a great value and we had a deluxe room with cable TV, air conditioning, a private bathroom, and wireless internet. I met people on the island who paid much more than us and didn't get those amenities.
But the best part is the fact that the Inn (and the owner himself) have much more personality than any other place you stay on San Pedro. As soon as we showed up, they sat us down and ordered us a shot of Jagermeister. On almost every night, we started off partying in the bar before heading out. If you're looking for a fun place to stay that's inexpensive, Pedro's is the only place to go.
Best Value in Belize and Peter Laurence is a True Gentleman
I have to say my time at Pedro's was a blast. A true Good Time--had by
Pedro's is the place to be if you need to get away and not waste money
on tourist traps. Peter L. always leaves the "light on" in his INN ---so book now and you will have a great time.
Hey don't forget the Pizza it is some of the finest eats on the Isla always crispy- always right- -----just plain and jain its'not ol' great pizza and belikin beer and dont, forget the JAGER (i drank 600.00 usd easily and laughed the whole time)
a. If you can plan a trip here to see AC you will be happy you spent all your money diving and eating out and not on some "over-priced hotel"
Pay the always low rates at Pedros and he also might bail you out of jail if you do find yourself in a pinch. Peter turned what could have been a disaster into just three more----party like a rock star nights-----on the isla bonita.
So get packed, get drunk, get bail, get drunk, get packed get back here as soon as you can if you want a blast.
Pedros is the place to feel safe and wanted if you are not a total tool ---------you will get on just fine here it was safe clean (thanks
consuela) the drink cold and fast (thanks clarabell and Andy) the food
great (thank you trevor, walter, lovinia.
This is a fine bunch of folks that run a great party hostel this is not the Ritz Carlton, but i knew----- that ------------------and i was glad to spend 14 days chillin with some great folks who call pedros the LOCAL bar.
\despite the minor run in with "the MAn" it was a safe isla and if you
do find yourself a muck peter wont let it suck -----so get booking -----------call him and give him you Credit card and sit back the good times will flow at this ultra cheap digs peter calls home.
What more can we say!
3 nights in San Pedro at Pedros Inn just wasnt enough, we wanted more so we stayed another 2 nights!
We had a lovely clean private double room with AC, a bathroom and more TV channels then you know what to do with.
Say hello to Peter, Walter and Charlie, have a tasty home cooked pizza, wash it down with a few Belikin beers, watch the footie and relax.
Peter was the best host and went out of his way in helping us have a great time in San Pedro...and even to get us back to the border for our next part of our travels!
Graeme and Lorna
Comfortable/ Convenient & Great Value
We had a great time staying at Pedro's. We rented 1 deluxe room & 1 basic room. Clean/ Comfortable/ A.C/ T.V. The bar next door is a good place for a cold Belikin, AWESOME pizza & Margaritas. Pedro's by far is the best Value for your money. Peter is a great host! Hope to make it back someday to check out the swimming pool (be careful not to knock your new fence down Walter) LOL!! Thanks for making our vacation a great one!
