Fort Burt, Road Town (Tortola) - GREAT!

by kleverkimberley

A hotel built on the foundations of a Fort built by the Dutch (prior to 1672) and rebuilt by the English...
WOW!

The rooms were great - lots of light, clean, new looking but keeping in the spirit of a Carribbean holiday.

The service and staff were amazing (we were upgraded for free when we had some trouble with our air conditioning - really, really upgraded - to a suite!)

The location, if you're planning on doing any sailing (which is really the only reason I'd say you should go to RoadTown), is perfect and right across the street from the Marina - providing some great views at night and some great boat-watching during the day.

We were recommended the hotel by friends and we'll ALWAYS stay there when we we're lucky enough to return to the BVI.

It's built on the foundations of an old Fort.

Great view of the marina.

It has a pool that overlooks the marina.

The restaurant is run by a culinary school - a little pricey but absolutely worth it!!!

Any Charter Company: Any Charter Boat

by NathanB

The only way to really "see" the British Virgin Islands is by charter boat.

The boat is your transportation, hotel, and swimming/diving platform.

Peter Island Resort: luxury resort

by arasnosliw

Pretentious, snotty, unable to deal with bikini clad Sara....

Stay here only if you brought a coat and tie....and if you're looking to waste a good deal of money.

amazing swimming pool, I have to admit.

Steele Point: wow, a luxurious villa

by arasnosliw

I obviously did not stay here. This famous villa is on the end of a peninsula at the West End of Tortola. Actually there are two villas here and prices range from 9000-15600 a week for the larger Steele Point villa where the Gestalt goes from 6800-7500

Saba Rock Island Resort: tiny island, tiny resort

by arasnosliw

A 9-bedroom resort on the tiny Saba Rock Island located in the North Sound of Virgin Gorda.

It hosts a variety of watersport activities.

To experience more activities, take the ferry to the mainland of Virgin Gorda at Bitter End Yacht Club.

Marina Cay: Private Island

by kyoub

Marina Cay is on a private island off Beef Island.
There are 12 rooms with balconys all overlooking the sea. A beautiful coral reef encircles the island.
We got this picture on the way out from the airplane.
We did not stay here but it looks nice..

Tip Photo
Cane Garden Bay Beach Hotel: Lovely beach

by kyoub

Cane Garden Beach Hotel is locally owned and it is the liveliest spot on the beach. The beach is very pretty.
Charter boats anchor off shore in front of the restaurant.
There is live entertainment at night.
We didn't stay here. We just stopped in the restaurant for a cool drink and the view.
That is the island of Jost Van Dyke in the background. Many go over there on day trips.

Bitter End Yacht Club: Get active

by IceBear7

If you're really into watersports and if you like eating a lot of good food, then this place is perfect for you. There are only few hotels with all-inclusive meals in the BVI, and BEYC is one of them.

The rooms are in bungalows nestled into the hills, with perfect balconies and hammocks. A number of beaches, kayaks, surfing, hobiecats, sailing classes, excursions and a breathtaking setting make this a really really fantastic place.

You can only get here by boat!

Peter Island Resort: Picture perfect honeymoon spot

by gpassey

Private island, picture perfect beach, limited number of rooms, and attentive staff make this paradise on earth. The pool area is great. The all inclusive meals are first class (in fact, many yachters come ashore to enjoy the restaurant).

Two days that particularly stood out for us were when they dropped us off on the other side of the island, alone, with champagne to witness the sunset, and when they dropped us off on a deserted beach for the day, complete with catered picnic lunch. Perfect.

Biras Creek Resort: At the end of the world

by IceBear7

This is the most beautiful I have ever stayed at, and I doubt it can get any better.

The location of Biras Creek isunique - touched by three seas, the Caribbean, the Atlantic, the North Sound. You can reach the resort only by boat or by walking over from the Bitter End Yacht club.
And every little detail is PERFECT!

it's a huuuuuge area, among hills, with a "rough" coast and a quiet beach. You have your own bicycle so that you get everywhere easily.
Lots of watersport facilities like hoby cat, windsurfing, kayaking, a great pool.

Restaurant with a breathtaking view and the best lobster I ever had.
