Would recommend bvivacationhouse.com
It is located above brewers bay, and offers stunning sunsets and tranquil nights..
A friend of mine has stayed they many times, they seemed to be booked alot so the property must be good...
You can't find cheaper accomodations than here. It was really quiet, but just a stone's throw away from the Tamarind Club when we wanted to grab a bite to eat or a cocktail. Personally I thought the decor left something to be desired, however, I didn't choose this place for aesthetics, but rather for location and price. The beach is a 5-10 minute walk down a dirt road, but well worth the hike. There is a bar on the beach called Grapetree Bar & Grill, which offers a nice respite from the sun. I really enjoyed my stay here and would recommend this to those looking to do the Caribbean on a budget!
Nearby to Serendipity:
Check out these beaches, Josiah's Bay, Elizabeth Beach (Lambert Bay) and Long Bay Beef Island, as picturesque as you will find anywhere in the Caribbean.
Josiah's Bay is a seasonal beach, perhaps not always suitable for swimming ,wading and snorkelling during the peak tourist months of December to March, but it does offer the surfers a great opportunity to sharpen their skills during these months. The beach bar has a limited supply of surf boards to rent for those who want to give it a try. During the other 8 months the Atlantic swells subside and give the bathers a chance to test the warm ocean waters, here at Josiah's Bay.
Naomi, at the Grapetree Beach Bar, will serve ice cold drinks to quell the midday sunand even prepare a custom dinner under the stars for you and your special someone.
Elizabeth Beach or the beach at Lambert Bay is what you dream of , with its profusion of palms waving gently over the turquoise blue water and white beach sands, that has appeared in movies and glossy brochures. Again the waves can be very rough during the winter months but the sea calms considerably during the other seasons. Lambert Bay Resort Restaurant is there to serve you drinks , lunch or dinner.
Long Bay, Beef Island is a more sheltered and protected beach and normally is more friendly to the swimmer and snorkeller , the year round. A very interesting snorkel trail is marked out at the west end of the beach. This beach offers a great deal of privacy during the weekdays but sometime is quite crowded on Sundays or on holidays when the locals come to picnic.
The Tamarind Club (right next door to Serendipity House) serves 3 meals a day, seven days a week. While you wait for lunch to be served or after lunch, take a cool dip in the Tamarind Club Pool, and even grab a drink at the swim-up bar.
We did not stay on the island of Tortola because we arrived by cruise ship. But one of the few places we saw which had accommodations was Myett's on Cane Garden Bay where we stopped while on tour and had a fruit rum punch. In addition to sleeping accommodations, Myett's was a decent little jumble of a restaurant with outdoor seating and live music, an inn, gift shop, and I believe watersport shop. Myett's has a superior location with great views and you literally step out onto that beautiful Cane Garden Bay beach.
PRICE INCREASES (June, 2009): Prices have increased, but as you can see they haven't escalated to an unreasonable level.
UPDATE: Dec. 15 - April 14: Deluxe Suite $200.00
April 15 - Dec. 14: Deluxe Suite $130.00
Plus 17% tax & service
Rooms may have a beach view for a somewhat higher price ($185 in high season/$175 low season, 2006) or gardenview ($175 in high season/$100 low season, 2006). Well, for that small difference, I'd certainly opt for the beachview, duh!!!) High season is mid-December through mid-May. Low Season is mid-May through mid-December which is spectacular for families. Rooms are air-conditioned, have a coffee-maker, wet bar & fridge, telephone and maid service. The handy Myett's Garden & Grille Restaurant outdoor dining area has a palm-thatched roof covering tables which I feel is a plus because of the wonderful views ---and serves"brunch," lunch and dinner plus has a "HaPpY HoUR."
Myett's also has a two-bedroom house for rent called "Tortola Indigo Beach House" for weekly rentals for the larger group or family.
Check their website for the most current prices, but I'd say the price is definitely right for the location and views on the beautiful Cane Garden Bay---the most appealing factor on most islands.
I can't really say what the inn's staff is like since we didn't stay here but the waitresses and the gift shop clerk were quite friendly and willing to talk.
Beautiful villa that we would stay at again in a heartbeat. Has separate bedroom "houses" and separate common areas, which work the best for several couples. There is a caretaker at the house below, however, gives you full privacy and is a wealth of information when you need it. Careful if you are allergic to cats as one friendly one - Lucy - lives on the property and visits once in awhile!
Fantastic views, pool and pool table make for a lot of fun with good friends and drinks!
Simple and inexpensive and right in the heart of Cane Garden Bay. Rooms were clean and included a kitchenette, living room, and cable TV (I was able to catch the Eagles - Giants game while sipping a Carib and listening to the waves on the beach - and the Eagles trounced the hapless Giants.......could a day get any better?) Maid service was excellent. I would recommend Elm Beach Suites to anyone NOT looking for luxury digs, but ARE looking for comfort, convenience, and are out to save a few bucks.
Excellent view, especially at sundown. Make sure you rent the rooms on the upper floor.
A group of us woke up and having our feet in the sand right outside our door, we just jumped in the ocean. The setting was so amazing that we didn't want to spoil it with conversation. This was also before our morning coffee, so we were unable to have a conversation :).
A restaurant right next door: casual, with live music and serving huge lobster.
