 | Virgin Gorda Fischer's Cove Beach Hotel Reviews | 1 - 2 of 2 | |
Warning: If you are the type of tourist who requires perfection and full resort amenities, this hotel is NOT for you! And the rest of us won't miss you much . This is an island in the tropics & the hotel is a bit older, so the cottages with kitchenettes did have a few little tiny ants around, and the sink had a few chips. But overall, it was cleaned well every day and it was a comfortable affordable small hotel, conveniently located right on a pleasant sandy beach in Spanish Town. I rented a studio cottage with full kitchenette for about $100 a night, including taxes etc. Sure there was no AC, but I loved sleeping open air with the lazy plantation fan humming and the sound of the gentle surf sending me off to dreamland.
The views from the beach & the restaurant are superb, as you can see from the photos taken there. An offshore reef protects the beach, and the sand is that silky soft Caribbean sand my feet just love. But what really makes this hotel something special are the people - it's family run & from the moment you arrive, you are greeted with warmth & courtesy, and you never have to worry about anyone stealing your valuables. The other tourists who frequent Fischer's Cove are great too, I made several friends while there that I fully expect to see again. It's just that kind of place. Garden Studio Rooms at Fischer's Cove Hotel by catalysta, 1 more photos Fischer's Cove Beach Hotel also has some 2 story garden apartments set back behind the row of cottages. There are no kitchenettes, so these are a cheaper alternative if you don't wish to fix your own meals. Though they do have more of the normal hotel amenities, like mini-refrigerators, phones, TV's & coffee makers.
The "ocean view" studios they refer to on their website are the second story rooms, so you would look out over the studio cottages at a bit of blue water. The "garden view" rooms are on the ground floor, and they are the only ones with air conditioning. Upstairs rooms have screened windows & ceiling fans, same as the cottages.
