 | | | | Spanish Bay Reef Resort All-Inclusive: Excellent resort Compare Rates NEW! | Satisfaction: | | | | |
The hotel was accessed from the airport via public transportation bus. The rooms were decorated in a island style with bright colors. There were lots of wicker accessories in the room. The hotel was all-inclusive, so all meals were provided. The meals were quiet good, and were usually served buffet style. There was evening entertainment at dinner. There was also afternoon socials down by the beach. There was a dive shop on site, and for a fee dive sessions were available. You cold also rent jeeps to do your own sightseeing.
I really enjoyed the lobby of the hotel. It was constructed out of stone, and was very unique looking. Outside the front door of the lobby was available tours and sightseeing you could arrange through the resort, written on a dry erase board. There were beautiful views of the ocean, and since there was no other resort nearby, the beach was very quiet. The day we got there, we explored the beach and only saw two other people, and they were residents who lived in houses facing the beach. Also due to a government proctected reef near the resort there was no swimming there, which was a bummer. | | | | Sunset House: Gorgeous diving experience | Satisfaction: | | | | |
I went there for the underwater photography course given by Cathy Church. These were two of the best weeks I ever spent! The Sunset Divers, the superb dive support yatchs, Cathy Church's U/W Photo Center and the associated logistics, the excelence and dedication of Cathy and her assistants , along with the beautiful grounds, complete this diver’s Caribbean paradise. Of course, I rented a scooter to get around and enjoy the rest of the island. From early in the morning, before breakfast, we would examine the previous days work (U/W negatives/slides) as to develop a shooting strategy for the current day. Several dives per day in different sites gave me the opportunity to practice and enjoy this great activity. At night, along the restaurants and bars on Seven Mile Beach, I could enjoy fine meals and a relaxed drink, or two!, by the sea.
Perhaps what was outstanding was the support given to a diver, whether beginner or expert. Theme: HotelPrice: US$80-120 » Currency ConverterComparison: more expensive than averageAddress: 390 South Church StreetPhone: 345-949-7111Directions: south of Seven Mile Beach
