For prices of the organised tours: see the website. Hacienda Guachipelin is located at the foot of the Rincón de la Vieja Volcano, near the town of Curubande, in the province of Guanacaste. The Hacienda borders the popular Rincón de la Vieja National Park.
Since 1985, Hacienda Guachipelin has also been hosting a steady flow of visitors, helping them enjoy the natural beauty of the ranch and the neighboring national park. Natural hot springs, virgin forests, jungle waterfalls and volcanic mud pots are just some of the many attractions tourists can enjoy during a stay at the Hacienda.
It is a great place to stay and to observe the stars at night because there is less light polution overthere. There is a little pool.
The Hacienda is located near (couple of km) the entrance of the National Park of Rinçon de le Vieja.
The rooms are Ok, although do not always expect a hot shower.
When I was there sometimes the water just drips out of the shower.
It is rather expensive in comparison with other lodging facilities in Costa Rica, but you have clean rooms. The food is also OK.
You can even book some organised tours in the Hacienda.

by forshy1 about hotel hacienda guachipelin!

highly recommended. they have nice spacious rooms that are well kept. the staff is friendly and helpful. they leave you a little bag of mud to get a taste of having a mud facial. the hotel is part of a working hacienda so you will see loads of animals. it is inevitable. this one time at breakfast, my sister asked whether they had sausage and a worker said "no" but in 10 minutes or so, he produced a small plate of sausage for the sister. they had service with a smile during our entire stay. and their food..... man, it was good grub! you have an option to do the buffet or you can also order from their menu. delicious stuff! the facilities are well kept and the surrounding land provides the visitor with plenty to keep busy with. to give you an idea, we did horseback riding, tubing rapids, zipping, hiking to waterfalls (approx. 3 different ones) and a spa treatment during our stay at the hacienda. and, we also milked a cow! they are near rincon de la viega national park too. we wanted to hike to the summit but winds prevented us from doing so!

*i will post pictures of everything i did under "things to do". i've just posted a couple of photos of the hotel grounds

family all-inclusive in guanacaste?

by jeffnewyork

aside from occidental papagayo, are there any large, moderately-priced, all-inclusive hotels where my teenage kids will meet others their own age?
also, the hacienda guachipelin sounds like a pretty interesting locale for a couple of days...anybody agree or disagree?

thanks,
jeff
