I don't know if walking your pig on the beach is really a local custom in Costa Rica, but this pink porker certainly seemed to be enjoying the waves! When we approached, he wound around our legs, and enjoyed being scratched behind the ears, just like a dog would.
Playa Hermosa is a beautiful, calm beach that feels like a private place though it has public access. It is great for swimming, relaxing, tidepooling and bird watching.
We stayed on the hill above Playa Hermosa and the sunsets were amazing. Renting a place is very reasonable and it would be a great deal with a bunch of people. We had an infinity pool, three bedrooms and a housecleaner all included in the price.
