Cala Luna Boutique Hotel & Villas: Not the best in Playa Tamarindo

The facilities were impressive, but although the hotel description said that you "Could hear the waves" from your room, a decent beach was only to be found at adjoining resorts. The front staff were unimpressive. We had a 2-bedroom villa, on a dirt road along which the staff had to schlepp luggage, with a/c only in the bedrooms; the main living area was rarely below 87 degrees. The food in the restaurant was quite good and the sushi bar was a plus. If I had to do it again, I would stay at the adjoining Capitan Suizo - the beach is right past the pool area and the rooms and grounds are spectacular.

This place was wonderful. The service was impeccable, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The grounds were beautiful. Our group of 5 stayed in a villa for 5 nights, where we had our own pool, 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom, full size kitchen, large living room and dining room and beautiful architechture.
This was the perfect place to stay in Tamarindo for a group of firends (5-6) where you have your own villa to hang out during the day and close enough to walk into the fun little town of Tamarino to shop or have a nice dinner at one of several good restaurants. For what you get, we were all very surprised at how low the bill was at the end of our stay!
