Exit Fee
by jenn_d
Costa Rica charges a $26 pp exit fee at the airport. You will not be able to check in for your departing flight without receipt for this tax. A good idea might be to pay the fee in the terminal when you arrive as it is one less thing you'll need to worry about on your day of departure.
Catch of the day - Costa Brava style
by holligolytly about El Jardin del Eden
This was a very nice (casual fine dining) type restaurant at a luxury hotel in Tamarindo. The food was excellent as well as the service. The hotel is located on a small hill at only 3 walking minutes from the beach. It features a magnificent view of the entire Tamarindo Bay, one of the best places to enjoy the magnificent sunsets of the Pacific Ocean! I really loved the red snapper served costa brava style (the catch of the day with their house creamy sauce) Delicious! The salads were also very good.
pizza...

you cannot instead avoid pizza... lots of places offer it and if you allow me a judgement: at playa Tamarindo you can find an almost perfectly Italian pizza in the local of which sorry, I cannot remember the name, but it's the one divided in two sections (on the left restaurant, on the right pizzeria), the pizzeria nearer to the main square on the beach.
but a really good pizza is the one baked in a wood oven at playa Grande by the hombre español as I nickenamed the place but his restaurant is El Fogon, in the pic, and it also offers overnighting.
THE BEST SUNSET THAN I'VE...

THE BEST SUNSET THAN I'VE NEVER SEEN
Playa Tamarindo: There are two spots here worth trying, Pico Pequeño, a rocky point in front of the hotel Tamarindo; and Bel Estero, an excellent river mouth break. You'll find a decent beach break here, and it makes a good base for exploring other surfing spots nearby. Nothing to write home about, but it beats getting a job
