My trip to the town of Jaco was made much more enjoyable by the people who manage, work and just hang out at Clarita's. To all the freindly, informative people I met there, I can not thank you enough! The girls that work at the bar are truley as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside and that is hard to find just about anywhere you can go (see attached pics). As for the Hotel itself, the rooms are very clean, comfortable and come with or without air conditioning. Rates are very affordable. The beach is great for walks, tanning, surfing, watching the sunsets etc...
The location of Clarita's bar and restraunt just a few meters from the surf is a real treat. Every evening the breeze from the ocean comes drifting throught the open air style bar and restraunt. Sunsets are spectacular! Keep in mind that I visited during what is concidered the "rainy season". It rained on about half the days I spent there. The rest of my time there was spent in sunny, hot days and clear skies filled with stars at night. The food was spectacular! I sampled just about every menu item. The cooks are hard working, talented and freindly just like everyone else at Clarita's. There is a computer in the bar for those who need to keep in contact via e-mail. For those of you who like to fish there are a multitude of charter companies to choose from and the fishing for marlin, tuna, sailfish, snook, mahi-mahi, wahoo is all great though somewhat seasonal. If you are traveling to Jaco and do not stay at Clarita's, you should still find time to go by and meet the people, have a drink , eat some great food and check out the view. You will not regret it! ok, I have stayed in the best and worst in all corners of the globe ranging from the Ritz carlton in Dana point California to a sleezy dive rented by the hour in downtown Los Angeles. This is what to exspect from Claritas. SECURE, room had a safe and they had security stopping anyone no a guest from even going near the rooms.CLEAN, the room was very clean. No dust or grime anywhere. Quiet, the only noisy neighbor was the rain hitting the roof top one night. Friendly, felt like I was part of the family after my first night there. GREAT VALUE check out the prices for what you get , it is simple. GREAT LOCATION on the sand and a 5 minute walk to downtown JACO. Their bar/resturant was friendly and the food was very good and also was a reasonable price. The only thing bad I can say is the rooms have NO telephones but honestly who needs them. They are a winner in my book and I am going back again .Next time I am bringing my kids too.

Clean, roomy, and a perfect location(not just the bar) next to the beach. Dont waste your time with Doug for excursions, do your own. He's usually too plastered, and making fun of the guests to know whats going on. Everyone else was awesome!!

My father sister and i recently went to jacó and intended on staying at Claritas. Upon arriving we hated it. The rooms were small, bare and smelled bad. Not at all worth what they were charging for the rooms. The reception wasnt clearly marked, and the hotel was hard to find. and the construction next door was very loud.

a great location being right on the beach, affordable air conditioned rooms, (nice waking up to the sound of the ocean everymorning), a great sports bar/restaurant. its the only place in jaco were you can enjoy either a cold beer or a great dinner while watching the sunset.
i think the thing that sold me most was the atmosphere. everyone in there seems to be having a good time. and the staff is extremely friendly. i wish i would have known about it a lot sooner. I have learned the hard way that not everywhere in jaco is so pleasant.

The stay at Claritas was very enjoyable and relaxing. The service was great from the bar to the maids! Everyone was very friendly. The food was excellent and the beer was cold!!!

When i travel I like to go cheap. That means I end up sacraficing things like security, cleanliness, location. I was pleasently surprised when i came to Clarita's. It's the best location right on the beach. The security staff is friendly and attentive and is on duty 24 hours a day. They also have room safes. The rooms are pretty basic, but there is plenty of hot water, and cold A/C, cable TV with HBO and Cinnemax and most of all it's clean. The maids make shapes out of the towels and leave fresh flowers on them everyday. The bar and resturant is the place to be in Jaco. This is evident by the fact that all the local expats hang out here. The food is excellant and the beer is ice cold. What really sets Clarita's apart from other hotels is their staff. They make you feel like your family. The manager, bartender, waitress, maid and even the security guards go the extra mile to make you feel at home. I would highly recommend Clarita's. You check in as a guest, and check out as a friend.

Clarita's was exactly the type of place we were looking for. We were a little nervous booking it online but when we got there, we were pleasantly surprised! The rooms were nice, the food was great, the people (Leslie and her staff) were incredible and the view was amazing! We strongly recommend Clarita's if you are looking for affordable rooms right on the ocean - they are hard to come by in Jaco! You can't beat the view and the sunsets! It's a little off the beaten path, but that is nice because you avoid the traffic and the noise. The walk into town is not all bad, and if you are lazy, you can hop in a cab for a buck! You can't beat that!

Booked this hotel from web site, little did we realize that Claritas is great, without a question the best spot in jaco. Super friendly nice staff makes you feel like old friend showimg up just to have good time, food is over the top, had tuna steaks 2 nights in row, best I,ve ever had. Great breakfast to go with beautiful ocean beach view. The girls at Claritas are the best, great service, any questions about area they will gladly give out all information good or bad. Will be returning next January for another wonderful Costa Rica vacation and would not even think of staying any place but Claritas Paul & Eddie, Louisville, Kentucky
