"Make Your Own Good Time"
by happyhourkid
This was a phrase coined by one of my buddies on this trip and at some times almost was used as sort of a "battle cry.". If you do decide to go to Jaco with a group of friends, there is so much to see and do in Jaco that it might be a good possibility that you will find yourself splitting up and doing separate things, if not doing things on your own. Later on in the week, you might get wore out and just want to relax, nurse a hangover, etc. while some others might be energized and want to go to the beach, have a few drinks, get a beach massage, etc. No matter what the case my be, make sure you enjoy yourself and do what YOU want to do. But if you do, be prepared to get notes like this taped to your door. It reads:
"Slapper, I came on vacation to hang out with you. We are at the Marriott buffet. B (short for Bob)
There's always time to come together as a group. If you go with your best friends, like I did on this trip, you always make sure you get together at the bar for another night of fun. Fun with friends.
breakfast...
by pollon about soda Flor
if you like a tica breakfast with gallo pinto (made with rice), natilla (my best liked addition: a sort of creamy cheese similar to mascarpone but with a more definite taste) and fresh jugo go to this soda :-)
in the pic the typical "carreta" (handcart) which I didn't catch in original :-( so I bought this postcard...
What a place to be....

"4 days in Jaco"
I was only able to spend 4 days in Jaco which was way to short! The time it takes to slow yourself down to the pace of this surfers village is at least a week. Everything seems to move at a little slower pace.
It only took about 15 minutes of watching the experienced surfers catching waves to make me want to give it a try. After about 20 minutes with an instructor, I was hooked! The waves in Jaco are a little smaller then in Playa Hermosa but are great for learning.
The night life was pretty good. There are casinos in Jaco, but since we didn't visit any I don't have a lot to say about them. If you looking for a varity of bars, you shouldn't have any trouble, and every night is ladies night somewhere.
This picture was taken in front of the Colonial Restraunt (I believe) and it is acutally a tree root turned upside down.
