Best Western San Jose Downtown

This was a small hotel, but I really enjoyed my stay. The rooms were very clean, although no extravagant decor existed. The people were very friendly and there was a nice lobby with a restaurant serving local and international cuisine. It is very convenient to shops and other downtown attractions.

Stayed in Hotel for about 4 nights on business. really liked the staff. The front desk and lobby personnel could not have been more helpful. By the end of our stay we felt we had gotten to know them a little bit. Helped with reliable cabs, restaurant tips and the odds and ends that always come up. The hotel itself is nothing to write home about. Solid 3 star maybe 4 star on a good day. The restaurant is OK, nothing wrong but nothing special. Same with the rooms they are clean and fine but you won't remember them.

Unique Quality: Great location. You can go out and walk around downtown and people watch at night. It was fun to wander the busy streets and jostle with the workers going home. Lots of shops and some restaurants to stop in. The streets are narrow in that part of town and it was easy to keep moving even with the car traffic. There are also discos/nightclubs right in the area but I didn't give them a try.
