Tobias Blanco airport hotels
Does anyone know a decent hotel near the tobias blacno airport in San Jose? I arrive late at night at the international airport and need to catch a domestic flight early in the morning at Tobias Blanco

There isn't much around the Tobias Bolano (Pavas) airport. Casa Roland B&B nearby has always gotten good reviews.

There is a Hampton Inn right across from the airport. They have an airport bus for transportation to and from the airport - I don't know how early or late they run though. (You have to get a vehicle because you have to cross a highway IIRC). It's not Costa Rican like some other places might be, but it is decent and clean, and if you don't leave too early in the morning, they have breakfast.

Just to clarify things so you don't get confused. The Hampton Inn and Garden Court Inn are two very North American style places right across from the International airport (SJO) not the Tobias Bolano airport. I would allow 30 minutes to get between the two if you choose to stay near the SJO one. Traffic is variable and can be really bad or not bad at all so the time can be only approx. I have done it in 20 minutes and 40 minutes.

I am going to costa rica on the 6th of feb spending 2 weeks my fiancee is traveling there from the philippines I want to get there on the 5th so i can be setteled in before she arrives on the 6th close to the sjo airport her flight will arrive 11.00pm i want a nice hotel maybe for 2 days then we can travel out to other areas i know she will be very tired from traveling 30 houres, my sister stayed at paradises in the north west 2 times in the last 6 months and loved it I had a travel agent get me some pricing but it is so expensive 8 thousand for 2 weeks i really dont want to spend that much I want nice hotels ,I like beach and boating and fishing not really into forest and things like that.any help would be a appretiated thanks

How nice are you talking?
For middle of the road but still nice you could think about the Orquideas Inn or Pura Vida Hotel. Melia Cariari is not too far for something nicer.
Up north you could look into the Flamingo Beach Resort or the Flamingo Marina which is right by the Marina area. FBR is just a short walk away. Very small area.
If you are looking for an AI you could check out the Fiesta Premier Resort and Spa further up in the Papagayo area. Don't know how the price compares with the Paradisus but I have seen some very good reviews. I can't seem to find rates anywhere.
If you are just looking for a quiet little place on the beach rather than a big all inclusive you could check out Hotel Sugar Beach.

Forgot to mention, the Flamingo Beach Resort is more of a family place.

thanks for the info i was talking to my sister today she suggest if i am going to paradeses or up north from san jose dont take ground transportation the roads are bad and it will take very long to get there i would be much better to fly from sjo to liberia in one of those small planes also some hotels i wanted to check into are casa roland near the airport as a starting point then paradisus then arenal paraiso, then si como no ,then back to sjo at the la condesa, also i see the marriot near the airport looks ok any info on those places thanks again.
