Avenida Central

Cars are not allowed to enter this area, it's a open-air mall of downtown San Jose indeed. You can find bookstore, department store, supermarket, fastfood (such like Taco Bell, Subway, BurgerKing, Pizza Hut, Pollo Campero and McDonald's) and boutiques.
ATV tour

I went on this ATV tour. We drove on trails on top of the Mountain with great views of the city.
We drove Yamaha Fourtrax ATV. We wore helmets and followed the guide around dirt packed and gravel trails.
The guide picked us up from our hotel in San Jose in a 4 wheel drive van and drove us up the mountain. After a couple of hours we returned and had lunch and drove around somemore.
We brought our cameras and took pics during our short rest stops along the trail.
$ 85 dollars for- Pick up,ATV tour and lunch.

Established in 1916, San Jose’s zoo contains more than 300 animals and 150 species of plants. Operated by the National Park Service, it offers opportunity to view numerous species of native wildlife that are not all that easily seen in the wild, even after a week or two of walking trails through different national parks. Open 9:00 am to 3:30 pm. Small admission.
Address: North on Calle 9

Apart from international flights, there are also domestic ones for those who want to go from San José to anywhere in the country or to the beaches. They are fast and comfortable. Some airlines that offer this service are Sansa (tel. (506) 221-9414) and Travelair (tel. (506) 232-7883)

Tired of rice and beans? This restaurant has a HUGE menu with a variety of vegetarian options and dishes from Chinese, Thai, Japanese and Indian cuisines. Soooo tasty and the prices are a little high for Costa Rican standards but very reasonable for the quality and service. Vegetarian green thai curry.
