Apparantly this resort is called Be Live in some brochures now. This is a 4* resort but it is modest compared to the counterparts found in Mexico. Cuba is a modest country so please remember that when you travel there. We had a wonderful time here. We found the food to be amazing; there was something for everyone. Ham, chicken, turkey, seafood, potatoes, plain rice and veggies, local spiced rice and veggies. The A La Carte dinners were awesome. The pool has a swim up bar and the beach is shallow and bath tub warm. The staff are very friendly and the shows are somewhat repetive with lots of local style dancing but they try to get the audience to participate and if you do then you get free bottles of rum. Overall we had a great time - from the check in to the bartenders, dancers and maids everyone was nice to us. The manager even asked us how they could improve and offered us his info so that if we book again he would give us a preference on rooms etc.
Everyone was so laid back and friendly from the guests to the staff so we made lots of friends and just had a great time!
We enjoyed our 7-day beach holiday at Brisas. There are 4 all-inclusive resort hotels along the beach. From east to west, and in order of decreasing price, they are Oasis Brisas Santa Lucia, Gran Club, Caracol, and Club Amigo. The fifth is a tourism school hotel, "l'Escuela", a few rooms are available to the public. The 4 all-inclusives are mainly sold to Canadians as package tours. Great low-cost bargain beach holiday, but for Europeans, the air fare makes it too expensive for medium hotels with mass buffet meals.
There is a disco from 11:30 pm to 2 am at Brisas. Otherwise not much happening. If you want nightlife action, go to Varadero.
Nice beach, decent clean rooms, great staff, garden-like grounds with mature vegetation, palm trees. You can buy a good boat tour for great snokeling or Scuba on the reef.
Ocean front. Nice pool with swim-up bar. White powder sand beach. Good gym facility. The free kayaks, paddle boats, catarmarans (with captain) are good quality and in good condition, as are the life jackets, paddles, and snorkeling gear.
