Jagua Hotel
I believe the most popular hotel in town - as tourist accomodation.
But a goody - renovated only a few years ago -and during my stay over NY 2003- i had the best room and view on the swimmingpool and related festivities.

Most luxurous Hotel i visited
A nice "old russian builded" hotel with a lot of facilities.' Pool/Massage/Beautyfarm and a lot of souvenir shops and bars"
I revisited in december - New year period - an experience !!
Unique Quality: It is located near the beach and was recently rebuilded.
the servants are cool (typical Cuban servants of the state) but it was oké

Warm welcome
We met Jan and Claudine during our second trip to Cuba.They were just married - so this warm welcome was a special surprise for them. BTW - Jan is a excellent piano player - so the romantic amosphere was a cherish on th cake.

General info
Hello, We are planning to visit Cuba this November. We will spend a month and we would like to keep costs a bit low. We enjoy sailing, diving(open water, I really don’t want to see sharks) , mixing with local cultures, and sip a few drinks. We also think in visiting Mexico – Yucadan peninsula from Cuba and back or vice versa whichever way proves to be cheaper. So I am in search of information for
Medium range hotels or nice casa particulars in (Havana, cienfuegos, Santago de cuba mainly)
Dive schools and dive sites good for snorkelers
Information on costs (lodging, traveling)
Flight costs from Havana to cancun. (I cant find this in air cubana site)

Hi! For the flights from Cuba to Mexico, you could also check with Mexicana Airlines.

Stay in the Casas in Cuba. I'll post again with excellent ones in both Havana and Cienfuegos. "Cuba Junky" is very good, but once you've got your first one they will know someone where you are going next. It works really well.

Casa costs 20-30 CUC/night. Viazul provides bus service between major cities and you could also try Astro.
A beer usually costs 1-1.5 CUC at bars/nigh clubs in Santiago, Cienfuegos, and Havana.
Mexicana and Air Cubana operate direct flight between Havana-Cancun/Mexico city, check the price at local agents. It usually costs $200-300.
