Hostal Ferrer- Hector y Ilia: Cienfuegos' friendliest casa
We stayed in this Casa when travelling around Cuba, it was by far the friendliest and safest place we stayed. This experience was so much better than staying in the hotel, Hector and Ilia have brilliant English and have a lovely home together. They were really helpful about where to go and what to see- with top cuban tips as well. We will definitely visit them again and would recommend this casa to anyone!
local insight, safe, friendly, clean, perfect location

Hostel ferrer: Casa particular in Cienfuegos
I stayed with very nice family. They helped a lot. I would like to stay more and eat with them. My room, breakfast were nice too. If you stay there, please say my best wishes to them.

Casa Elsa: Small and cosy
Elsa's house is a small colonial casa about 500 meters from the plaza Marti and about 200 meters from Viazul station.
You have a not so big double room and an indipendent bathroom, air conditioned, fan and friedge in the room.
The street is very quiet and Elsa is really a kind person. We did not have breakfast here because we decided to eat in another casa reccomended by our casa owner in Havana.
The price for the double room is 20 cuc.

Villa Guajimico: Areally good Cuban hotel
We found this hotel by accident while travelling from Cienfuegos to Trinidad. It is comprised of 54 cabins and restaurants which overlook an inlet off the ocean. It was such a nice surprise in the middle of nowhere - our own cabin in a natural setting, and a memorable lobster dinner. There's a beach and small boats, and a cruiser for the many French scuba divers that frequent this place. If you are travelling on your own, put this hotel on your agenda.
Being an eco-hotel, they do not put chemicals in the pool - so it didn't look that inviting. But to make up for it, they offer guests a cave on site, and a nice private beach. And what I will never forget - florescent fish! of all sizes! at night. I could not believe what I was seeing, and blamed it on the wine!
Service was great. They even tried to fill our flat tire with a scuba tank.
(They do not take credit cards)

..and there's no glass in the windows - an extra bonus of nice breeze at night followed by eco friendly early alarm clock performed by a local rooster...
