The Place where Maceo stayed

I have stayed at this hotel many times, especially at the begining of my love affair with the island..
It has an old world charm, the breakfast room and the salon is attractively decorated in the late 19th century mode. Historically interesting in that this hotel served as General Antonio Maceo The Titan 's headquarters during the revolutionary war against Spain.

Unique Quality: Right in the centre of everything, next door to Ballet and Theatre, old havana at your door step, Prado just a few meters to your let and in front the Parque Marti with his statue.
Rooms are just ordinary nothing very special.

Classic hotel in Havana

The Inglaterra is the oldest hotel in Havana, It's quite nice inside, very colonial style, particularly the restaurant/coffee bar area. Our room had no real window which made it a bit depressing sometimes, though we might have been lucky actually, at least it wasn't noisy.

Unique Quality: The hotel's location is excellent for walking around in the old town. it's also next to the Gran Teatro and two minutes from the Capitol. But what I loved most is the terrace ovelooking Parque Central (and the traffic), with good cocktails and live music.
The hotel itself is a National Monument.

Hotel Inglaterra

This hotel has a collonial style. I liked it very much. Not because you have a lot of comfort but because it is old and still has his old charm. You also stay in the midle of the old town. Liked it very much.
Take with you something to cover the ears ;-) the noice of the street in the night

Unique Quality: the rooms. But ask for a room on the 3th floor.
