Hotel Kohly was snuggled into a barrio between Vedado and Miramar and close to a beautiful forest. I prefer this type of hotel but its not for everyone. THis hotel allowed you to invite friends to the hotels outdoor bar without a big hassle. The down side of this is that there were quite a few jinatras hanging around all the time. It only took me a few days to adjust as Cubans seem not to have the same additudes regarding this profession as we do in North America.
Food...was ok if it was available. Often out of chicken, cucumbers tomatoes... which is pretty much WAS the menu. Right next door was a very good pizza place and the prices were great.
Clean and just fine really. Nothing spectacular but not terrible. I had a great time dancing with the locals by the pool.
Taxi expensive. Better to walk to the main street and hail a cuban cab which is allot more fun anyways provided you don't mind picking up other people on the way. Makes the trip more interesting.
Unique Quality: The pool area was small but very pretty with lots of greenery. A bowling ally next door and a gym.
Directions: Between Miamar and Vedado
