The Hotel Guantanamo has 142 air-conditioned rooms and is basically the ONLY tourist hotel in the city. There is a large pool, 2 restaurants (but one never opens!), 2 bars, ice cream parlour, barber shop and dollar store. The soviet-style air conditioners are a bit noisy but other than that the rooms are comfortable.
Very reasonable rates at $24 a night during high season.

Unique Quality: You will find many Cubans on holiday here as well, which I see as a bonus. The large front balcony is often rented to the local Cubans to celebrate weddings and birthdays.
