Looking for a song heard on the Calypso Catamaran "ayee-acee"

by DanielleMalcolm

My family and I recently took a Catamaran to Cayo Blanco. It was an awesome experience and LOTS of fun! My sister and I won a CD with some of the music played that day on the Catamaran Calypso. We are desperatly searching for more info and or the name of the song that seperates the men and the women. Part of the song says "ayee.....aceee". This song was a lot of fun and everyone on the catamaran participated. We would love to find this song to help us remember the awesome time we had. Catamaran tour A MUST DO for anyone wanting to have a good time.

Thank You SOOOO much for this song.... we actually forgot about it! It was also a lot of fun. The song I am referring to seperates the men to one side and the women to the other side and then makes sexual references were the women reply "AYEE-AYEE" and the men reply "ACEE-ACEE".

Travel Tips for Varadero

Varadero Tip

by Joan58

VARADERO: The Hicacos peninsula is on the northern coast. Here there is La Playa Varadero that is a nice beach, a large strip of white sand 18 kilometres long. It's the most famous and frequented beach in Cuba by the international tourism. But... some people leave from these beaches sailing by fragile boats trying to cross the Straits of Florida. Someone don't survive. This is a thing that make you think.

Give Aways

by trevndebs

Try to bring some spare toiliteries or make up as a tip to your chamber maid as they really do appreciate this.
Also, stuff for kids, pens, crayons etc.
We went to our local £1 shop and loaded up and they really loved it ( also got us extra coffee and water in the rooms ! )
In return, our maid kept making our towels into animals.

Varadero

by 416Guy

Authentic Cuba, it is not. Varadero, in fact, is fast losing any semblance of Cuban character. However, it's beaches are world class, the atmosphere is unequaled and the people are among the friendliest in the world. You have the feeling of walking around in a movie during filming, a truely unforgettable life experience. A few rules:
1) Never photograph a police officer.
2) Although not strictly enforced in Varadero, but Cubans are not allowed to fraternize with visitors, they will generally shy away from public conversations and are very wary when they do.
3) Never mention Fidel Castro's name to a Cuban. This can be very dangerous, not for you, but for whom you are speaking. Cubans are paid money to 'inform' the government of any Cuban who speaks ill of 'El Presidente'. The mere mention of his name will drive away any Cuban that you thought you had befriended, fear is very powerful here.
4) You will be offered all kinds of drugs. Even if that's your thing, the penalties are severe. So, wait til you get home!

Rum

by twilightmuse

Cuban Rum is amazing and cheap! When you are staying at a resort the local bartenders will offer to sell you a bottle of booze. I have read numerous reviews of travellers who got offeneded when this happened because their trip was all inclusive. Please remember that you are in a communist country. The bottle they are trying to sell you is generally only about $3 and it is larger and cheaper then the ones you can find in town for sale. It is just a local way for them to try to make some money on the side.

It's a different country than here.

Everyday items we take for granted are sometimes in short supply or not available at all. Remember to take things like toothpaste, deodorant and aspirin with you. Facecloths are not supplied in most resorts. When you are outside of your resort and require the use of a public washroom, you might be surprised to find that there is no toilet tissue or that someone will be sitting outside the washroom who is willing to sell you a small piece of tissue. To avoid this situation, take some small pocket packs of facial tissues. Some public washrooms do not have facilities for washing your hands. You can carry some alcohol wipes or waterless antibacterial hand wash lotion with you. They are both available in small size containers that can be carried in your purse or pocket. You can take a number of things with you to give away as gifts to local people that you meet.Hand and face soap, deodorant, toothpaste and perfumes are hard to get and the selection is very small at best. Clothing, even used, is greatfully received with sport logo items high on the list of wanted items. Pens, pencils, pencil sharpeners, erasers and notebooks are difficult to acquire there and are also appreciated. Good quality hard candy is hard to get there is appreciated by the many Cubans with a sweet tooth.
Anything that you choose to give to the maid in your hotel should be accompanied by a note stating that they are a gift from you to the maid. This will prevent anyone from assuming that she acquired the items any other way.
