Pinar del Rio is a nice town in the western part of Cuba. The province is mostly famous for the World Heritage Vinales valley, but there are many other places to visit like e.g. Soroa or Maria la Gorda, and the town itself is worth to see.

do the same thing as in Havana- go for a walk-about. The people are great and you'll stumble onto Tobacco fields, into sweatshops and into people's homes. Meeting a family in the middle of nowhere without electricity or running water who spoke volumes of their simple lives of happiness. Notice in this photo the guy behind the karate impersonator has knumchucks.

Las Terrazas is an UNESCO...

Las Terrazas is an UNESCO Biosphere created in the early 1970's. Nearly 5 million trees were replanted. As a result of this reforestation many different plant and insect species that were on the brink of extinction were born again with the force of millions. Only a limited number of tourists are allowed to enter yearly to this paradise. While you are there do not miss Rio San Juan where the water maintains a fresh 22 degrees celcius all year round.
