Hostal de Elsa Hernandez Monteagudo: Casa Particulare

This Casa is actually in Playa "La Boca", about 3-4 km from Trinidad and about 8-10 km from Playa Ancon.
Perfect for a quiet getaway.

Our host was very friendly and accommodating, arranging hikes, bikes and horseback riding for us, among other things.
THE FOOD IS OUTSTANDING!!!
Some Spanish is necessary.

Azalea polo and Alfredo ugando: casa particular

I stayed only for 2 nights in this casa. The people are very friendly and give you a good breakfast and dinner. the room is a bit noisy just next to a busy street and the you can hear everything in the house. but that didnt stop me from sleeping good.

Very near to plaza manor

La Casa de Mami: A Young Couple is renting this place

The place has 24 hours warm and cold running water. The clean, modern bathroom is shared. The place is about 250 meters from the city center in a quiet street.

Casa Rogelio Inchauspi Bastida: The best in Trinidad

This terrific place to stay is 2 minutes walking from the Viazul Bus Station, Rogelio will pick you up if necessary.

An amazing house in the historical area, used to be the Spanish Consulate afterwards a pharmacy, then owned by the family for several generations. Tall ceilings, wooden floors and beautiful iron beds, and a stunning view from the roof top terrace, very romantic!. Rogelio rents 3 rooms, 2 with shared bathroom, 1 with private bathroom. The house is very cool in the summer, safe, private and quiet. Rogelio and his wife are very friendly people and pleased to assit you finding cheap taxi's and bicycles. Offer a dilicious breakfast and dinner. Laundry service available for a small fee.

Nearby there is an internet cafe and a tourdesk to get Trinidad information and book tours for hikings and scuba diving excursions.

Book in advance beause this house is very popular

many of them: Casas particulares

There are many different particular houses where to stay, some more comfortable than others, some cheaper, some more expensive. Depends of the service you get and how near you're from the center of the town. The common thing is the charm of the people and they willingness to help you and show the beatfull places in Trinidad. But don't ever forget that every where there are people trying to take some advantage from you so e carefull with your things, money, cameras, bags and other things.

Almost all the houses ofr no more than 5-7 bucks include breakfast and typical cuban dinner, black beans, rice and porc.

Hotel Costasur: Hotel on the Ancon peninsula

A budget Horizontes hotel with a nice little beach, pool, beach bar, night entertainment, restarants, small shop. Mostly Canadian and Spanish tourists.

The hotel itself is nothing special, but the location is perfect , the water of the Caribbean sea is so smooth and the restaurant at the end of he beach offers excellent pizza (I know it's not Cuban food, but I don't like meat and rice so much, so after a while it was a very welcome change).

Private homes: Stay at someone's home

As everywhere else in Cuba, hotels are expensive and not necessarily any good. Try a B&B in someone's home for the best hospitality and get to know the place and its people.
We were given someone's number in Havana for Trinidad, and phoned and booked. When we arrived at the Trinidad bus station, boy were there touts! So, our chap picked us up, ignoring the touts, and he happened to have no room in his house, but his uncle did, so we had a lovely B&B.

Getting to know the real Cuba and staying in some grand and beautiful colonial houses.

Casa Grande: Great colonial houses (2)

Like most of the guesthouses in Trinidad is Casa Grande also a colonial house, with big cool rooms and a big yard.

But especially the rocking chairs, I loved those.

On the picture you can see our washing on the line. The houses are big enough to get in with a group of 8 people.

A big inner space where you can relax in a rocking chair. Hmmmmm I'm dreaming again.

Casa Grande: Great Colonial houses

Like most of the guesthouses in Trinidad is Casa Grande also a colonial house, with big cool rooms and a big yard.

These big colonial houses can host up a big group, we were with 8 people and it was on problem for us to stay all at the same place.

It gives you also an good impression about the colonial times and the big inner space is ideal to relax or hang the laundry.

But especially I have to mention the rocking chairs, I loved those.

Hostal Casa Margely: Casas particulares

I give you here one good recommendation.
-
Comment general: To hire private rooms (some people have licence to offer rooms) is a good alternative for your accommodation.
You get in contact with a Cuban family, get a little insight in their lives. You can get good advices on where to go and what to see.
To find the right acommodation, look for tips among your friends and in guide books.
(if possible avoid tips in the streets, you then have to pay for that tip to - it will be "put" on your bill!)

Central position.
Nice family. Good cooking.
