Grand Paradise Bavaro: Beautiful Bavaro

Stayed here with my partner, for 2 weeks all inclusive in June 2006.
We had the most amazing time, the hotel is set on a absolutely stunning beach pure white soft sands, and amazing turquiose blue ocean.
The staff are all incredibly friendly and can't do enough for you and will go out of there way to help you in any way they can nothing is too much hassle, they even arranged a nice evening on a last night decorating the table with rose petals etc, they did all this themselves as a surprise to us at the al a carte restaurant we had booked in.
The hotel as 6 Bars, and 6 Restaurants and is 24hr all inclusive.
It also as 2 large freeform pools and numerous beach and pool activities through the day amongst other things like, Tennis and archery etc.
Come evening there a nightly shows and beach parties.
The accomodation is very nice and adequate with the odd bit of wear and tear but then it is only a 3*+ hotel and only adds to the dominican charm and who cares when you are in such a beautiful place.
The food is fantastic with a wide variety for all tastes, (chocolate cake to die for ) i can be a bit of a fussy eater at times but never went hungry. There is a wide range of food 24 hrs a day ranging from buffet restaurant, al a carte restaurant, to snacks, to your general chicken, chips and pizza at the grill.
I would not hesitate in going back all in all a fantastic hotel.

Unique Quality: I would definately say the main unique quality as got to be the Beach it stretches for miles and miles and is soooo beautiful it is almost unreal.

Barcelo Villas Bavaro Beach Resort: now renamed IFA Bavaro

Almost excellent hotels, with great food, nice service.
Only problems are:
- If you wish to invite inside area (not room), you have to pay 50dollars or more, that is not good just for one hour visit.
- Taxis are expensive, due to hotel agreement (12dollar, too much for 1 mile)
- Air conditioner is noisy.
- No sea view room, just for 10% of the hotel rooms

Unique Quality: The amusement staff is wonderful, so funny and poliglota.
they really enjoy all day, even at hotel discoteque they have free classes of salsa.
