Dont forget to look in my travelogue called RIU BAMBU to see all of my pictures.

The swimmingpool is so big you could spend all day and not see the same people ha ha. There is also a nice poolbar where you can have a drink.

  • Tip Rating:
  • When we came the first evening they had placed us in room 2308. This room is not the best there is...inside its okey, but you are near the pool, Mamajuana, the theather and a bar. So if you want a early night you have a problem...and the same if you want to sleep a little longer.
Its not a cheap hotel, but you get what you have payed for. Good help, nice people, good service, wonderfull food, clean rooms and surroundings....its the best, luxury hotel i have ever been to.
And not to forget, my little friend came by everyday on television....also all-inclusive...ha ha.

Cause we wanted to have room next to our English friend who came 2 days later, we only have been in room 2308 for 2 days. After that they offerd us room 3116. And this is a good room. No noise from what so ever! And not to far from what you would like to do or where you would like to go.

The Travel Slut Top 10 Tips for Bahia Principe Resort & Spa in Punta Cana:

    1) Upgrade to the Royal Golden Principe club which entitles you to a room closest to the beach area and several other worthwhile amenities. If you do, remind your driver to drop you off at each special lobby.
    2) Bring a "coozie" or insulated cup if you plan beach or pool time. Ice in your drink will melt before you can reach your lounger.
    3) Expect staff to greet you with "Ola" and a smile no matter where you are on property.
    4) Different color wristbands identify your classification as regular, diamond or gold members.
    5) Bell service is essential. They are quick and friendly and run 24-7.
    6) Be sure to check out the Principe "Village" of shops, casino and outdoor entertainment near the resorts' entrance.
    7) Ask for two room keys. You can then leave one in the power socket so when you exit the room the air conditioner remains on.
    8) Make your dinner reservations for the theme restaurant of your choice early in the day as they tend to be filled up after 3 PM
    9) If you want to check daily activities or check a map of where you are on property, look for the large marquee-type signs at various tram-trolley stops along the resorts central walkway.
    10) Be sure to allow plenty of time for check-out. You will need an exit ticket from reception indicating you have settled your bill prior to leaving

This resort came recommended and I can see why.

The resort's 1,500 junior suites on 3 separate but adjoining properties all have modern amenities, are spacious, & clean, My room was #1101 & closest to the beach & pool. 24 hour room service included.

There are 6 bars including a swim-up bar. Odalis is the best bartender @ the lobby bar. He's funny, charming, & makes a great "Dirty Monkey".

There are several themed restaurants: Japanese, Mexican, Steak House, Fish & Spanish. All require reservations & dress-up.

There are 5 pools, a childrens section and all are very nice.

Non-motorized sports & activities are included @ 1 hr. per day. There's an activity director w/staff who keep people busy poolside/beachside if so desired. All watersports are offered. Remember at latitude 17, you will sunburn quickly. I didn't use the spa/gym this trip but they are full service and new.

The resort property is HUGE. It's 1/2 mile long trolley-tram service between lobby & beach-pool area is in a loop so excessive walking is not a major concern.

Food: good variety & selection, above average quality, & choice of buffet or reservation-only/sit-down dinners. The teppanyaki-style Japanese dinner I had was OK & similar to a Benihana's.

Drinks: Domestic beer & rum offered. Top shelf liquor was available but not included. NOTE: premium wine was not available. Someone found me a "premium" bottle @ $24 U.S.. It was a $5 Woodbridge white zin. Pool bar drinks were not as good as other bars on property.

There were enough loungers & beach/shade.

Entertainment: Staff did nightly shows outdoors & while the music & dancing was fine, it was too hot & some people left early.

A few things I did not understand:
    1) The in-room safe required an extra charge
    2) The available wine was limited to primarily 1 brand
    3) The outdoor entertainment was uncomfortably hot at night.
    4) Why are the pools shut down at 8 PM?

Superclubs Breezes Punta Cana: Wonderful Stay
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. The staff was so friendly and accomadating that I'm sure we will be back. The only mishap was the first evening we arrived, the room wasn't ready and the power went out... for a few hours, but the bartender's quickly made us forget that!! They had us tipsy and laughing in not time.

The food was decent in some resturaunts, great in others. There was enough variety for you to be able to find somthing to your liking.

I recommend bringing your own towels because sometimes they won't leave fresh ones everyday and you may not feel like waiting for them to bring some up. Also don' t drink the tap water, don't even use it to brush your teeth. YOU'LL BE SOORRYY!!

The beach was OUTSTANDING!!! This resort is the last on the strip, so it probably has the largest beach out of all the other resorts. You can actually walk off the property along the beach a find a much more secluded, peaceful part.

I definitly recommend this resort to anyone who wants the All-Inclusive experience to be laid back.

Resort is only a couple years old!!

The staff at this resort was fenominal. The room was always clean. The bar was always stocked. The food was wonderful. The beach was pristine.

This resort has several sections and grades which entitle you to access to different portions of the resort. We found that no matter what designation you were, you were welcomed everywhere. We stayed in the Premier Club, which is closer to the bottom of the Totem Pole, but were treated like gold all week. Premier Club is an adults only section of the resort, with it's own pool, buffet, and bars. While it is quite a way from the beach, there was always a trolly waiting to drive us down to the sand, often without making any stops.

Tips: While this resort is all-inclusive (including tips) bring some money to tip your maid, bartender, waiters...These people make dirt compared to us. For the maids, bring cheap make-up (stuff from K-mart, the Dollar Store, etc...). Your room will be so clean when you come back that you could eat off the floor. Tip your bartenders and waiters. When you want a drink, you will become front of the line without any trouble at all.

There are very few rooms with an ocean view on the resort. These rooms are much more expensive, and, in my opinion, not worth it.

    1. Get a room near the beach. The rooms near the main complex will have to deal with the loud music from the animation team up until 11pm or midnight.

    2. Pants are required at the a la carte restaurants for dinner.

    3. It's not a requirement to go to all 4 a la carte restaurants. Because of the temperature, we only ate at the two air-conditioned restaurants (French/Japanese) and wore shorts to dinner at the main buffet.

    4. If one has a weak stomach, it is best to stick with the fresh grilled foods versus the food that has been under the heatlamp for an unknown amount of time.

    5. If you're looking for someone that speaks English, look for the people wearing the red wristbands from Apple Vacations. I never did understand why they differentiate the hotel clientele.

    6. Don't visit this resort using the Casino as the main reason. There are only about 20 slot machines, 1 poker table, and about 8 table games. The employees looked completely bored out of their mind even when the customers were trying to get them to smile/laugh.

    7. Carry individual towelletes of OFF! misquito repellent. Works wonders at night.

    8. It's not a requirement to tip, but it always adds a smile to their faces.

    9. Food is not available 24 hours. After midnight, you can possibly find hotdogs, but not always. Best to purchase snacks to tie you over through the night.

    10. Bring a battery operated portable fan if you get hot easily.

    11. Most areas outside the resort accept US$. Doesn't hurt to convert to the local currency and save a little on the exchange rate.

    Enjoy your trip.

Large pool that closes around 7pm.

Plenty of beach and space to lay out.

A little more isolated from the rest of the resorts.

Palace Pool, to the right is
    the swim-up bar!

The Grand Palladium Palace Resort and Spa is part of the Fiesta Beach Resort complex. There are generally 4 sides to the resort: Palladium Bavaro, Grand Palladium Palace (where I stayed), Fiesta Beach, Fiesta Lookea, and their newest addition: The Royal Suites. I know, that is a LOT of resorts in one.

The great thing about staying at the Grand Palladium Palace, Bavaro and Royal Suites is that you have access to the entire area of the resorts and can use all amenities, bars, and restaurants at the sister resorts. So although we were there for 2 weeks, we never got bored because the resort was HUGE, we just treated the whole complex as one big resort, and we were all over the place all the time! :)

There were tons of amenities, activities (you can borrow the resort's kayaks, sail boat for free!) There are tons of beach bars everywhere, so you're never away from coco locos. They also serve water in individual, filtered/spring, bottles, which is better than just being poured from the tap. The service is very efficient, friendly, but non-obtrusive.

  • Huge grounds...if you don't mind that. If you have mobility problems it might prove to be a challenge as everything is spread out. Don't take me wrong, it is really well designed to cater to large amounts of people. One suggestion: bring some change to tip the driver as he escorts you to your room on his golf cart. (you'll appreciate the help they offer)

The food was ok. The beach was beautiful (white sand, clear blue water). Water was great!

The rooms are kept clean... over all, it is much better than the Occidental Grand Flamenco Hotel in Puerto Plata. It seems to be better managed.

The selection of "restaurants" on site were actually nice. I really liked the Mexican one.

Designed for large groups of people. Well designed and organized grounds and facilities. There is even a small gambling area with slot machines.
