Could anybody recommend us a good agency to book excursions. We want to see more about the DR than only Cabarete.
We heard some bad stuff about Freddie tours.

Well i don't know how the tours are at Freddie's. we went with Alf Tours. And they were great. They canceled one of the tours because of the rain. there was no other way. When we could not reschedule because we were leaving we received our money back. No problem.
The Jeep safari was with good weather and was as great trip. Next time we are going on an trip to Samana with them. We already booked on www.alftour.com.
Maybe this reply is to late. But I can recommend Alftour as well.
Hi there, DO NOT USE Freddy Tour's, they are dangerous, have no insurance and the guy who works there, a German called Peter is a convicted paedophile. Very serious. He has been reported. Use Vincent from Sunshine Charles Tours in Cabarete his number is 809 602 3618. We came back 2 days ago from Cabarete, recommend the Catamarang and horse riding on the beach. White water rafting is a VERY LONG journey and very dangerous, some people have died so advise you not to do that!
Otherwise, take advantage of the lovely beaches, boat trips etc. Paradice Island is OK when you get there but it is a 4 hr journey there and 4 hr journey back, rather uncomfortable.
Go to 27 waterfalls and the blue lagoon but whatever you do, stay away from Freddy Tours.

The trap in this matter is the picture....this is Jarabacoa....the waterfall who was so nice on the other picture!!! Our friends payed the $ 50 each and had to leave the hotel at 5 am to pick up other tourist...it has been raining all day...no horseback-riding, no pottery, no swimming...just a loss of $ 100 !!!!
Cabarete is the most beautiful place in the world. The hole city is along one street, a lot of shops and people.
The beach is dreamlike, long, white sand, palms, good looking men and a lot of wind...
Cabarete is the best place to make party. there are three (now four i think) discos directly on the beach. Onno's, Las Brisa and Bambu (my absolutly favorite place)
you can make party from evening till morning with good sound, good drinks and good people. The domenican can dance, realy. And if you wanna have a realy good and cheap ( RD 50) drink, go to "the blue bar" across onno's
If you wanna have good food or drink, go to cafe Pitu, its direct on the cabarete beach, between las brisas and fanatic windsurf. Nice salat, sandwiches and caiperinia. Rasta Pasta on tuesday, nice pasta with good reagge sound.
Everyday from 10 to 11 happy hour, you have to be happy for one hour, its not difficult with this barkeepers.
Nice and funny domenican customer at this place.
Pay attention with the toilet-corridor. THE GUYS REALY LIKE IT...
