Cabarete is definitely the best place for surfers, beach and party lovers! rental prices will vary, try to go to www.cabarete.com and shop around...
For the high rollers, try a private club called charlisangels where I got a deal for 4k including food, booze and girls for three nights, but it was definitely worth it! I was in the best discos every night, specially in BamBu and LaX.

Good luck! DOnt drink too much!

i would say cabarete (know for its windsurfing) and Punta Cana (known for pure white beaches) are top two choices for what you are looking for. Cabarete is a free spirited kind of town.
Remember one thing during your partying nights...have fun..but Dominican Republic has extremely high rate of HIV.....so just remember to pack
" raincoat favors" on your packing list for the fun... : )

Travel Tips for Cabarete

great stop on the way to and from water sports

by sunshinenow about KITE CAFE (i think that's what it was called?)

australian owned. this was between cabarete and playa encuentro go here! i'm not sure about the name though. it was on the north side of the street, the sign said kite something on it. there's a drive way to pull in...the building is yellow. you walk through a covered area, like an open attached garage, almost, and in back there are picnic tables, you order at the window. i forget the owners name, but he was very friendly. one of our surf instructors took us here. he told us he eats here everyday for lunch. ceasar salad with spicy tuna steakon top, bottle of coca-cola, 150 pesos, so good! try to go here.

they had other standards like burgers and chicken sandwiches, as well as quesadillas.

Playa de Cabarete

"A windersurfer's paradise"

Located on the north coast, this former fisher village has become famous in the world for its windsurfing. But Cabarete is also perfect if you want to practice other watersports such as kite surfing, cascading, snorkeling, surfing etc.

"Merengue and cuba libre until dawn"

You'll never get bored in Cabarete, there are many bars and restaurants on the beach. Dominican food is great and music is everywhere. In the evening, bands often play live rock and reggae in bars. Then these bars transform in discotheques where you can dance merengue until the next day.
