Coconut Palms Resort between Sosua and Cabarete
$75/nite I think but we did timeshare so I don't know for sure. Definitely worth checking out. Small nicely appointed apartment type rooms. No AC but built to handle breezes on the hill so a week in early April did not call for AC. Nice private beach (they have a shuttle or you can walk the 10 minute walk. Excellent poolside bar (say hi to Nicholas from Roy/Joe with the braid from AZ who spoke a little spanish and liked lime in his beer). Just an absolute excellent choice for a quite peaceful vacation spot

this was my 2nd time here and it was great ,the hotel has been improved since my last visit.i have a timeshare week here and many people stay here for weeks at a time!we had a great time at the bar meeting people from all over the world and the bartender nicky is cool! many of the people have been coming ther for years and love it. we walked down to the beach and its almost deserted it goes for miles in both directions!i walked one time for an hour and never saw anyone! there are many things to do in the area like surfing and wind surfing and there are casinos nearby.the food is pretty good they have bbq 's and fishfries on the beach. the service is great and the people are very helpfull and friendly the day bartender nick is great. they have a nice pool and are just a short walk to the beach (the hotel is on a hill ) but they have a shuttle to the beach .its only a ten min.walk and it does you good .there is also a beach bar.they have planned activties at night.which are fun. the rooms are nice and clean but have no a/c but you don't need it because of the hill top location gives you a constant breeze.the food is pretty good they have a meal plan which makes it all inclusive but we did not do that. they also can arrange tours for you.

Cash Machines ????????

My girlfriend is stopping at the Celvisma Paraiso , Anyone know if this place has an A.T.M. ? Are there A.T.M s on the streets or would she have to find a bank ? Many thanks, Nicolesdad2 (Mark)

There should be ATM's in Cabarete, but my advice would be to find a bank that has one. I haven't been there but here are some addresses:

- Banco Popular: Plaza Popular Carretera Principal Cabarete - Puerto Plata (809) 571-0903 Zona Nordeste 1.
- Banco del Reservas: C/ Principal, Plaza Supermercado Yanet, Cabarete

In case you can't make it to the bank, here are some ATM addresses:

- Bank Office (address above)

- SUPERM. PRODUCTOS SOSUA (Sosua supermarket)
Carretera Sosúa-Cabarete Zona Nordeste 1

- ESTACION ISLA GELL RODRIGUEZ (Isla gas station)
Carretera principal Cabarete-Gaspar Hernández (cruce Veragua) Zona Nordeste 1.
