by nancyleigh Casa Marina Beach/Casa Marina Reef (Sister Resorts) I went on a package that departed for Halifax, Canada and for all-inclusive 14 nights, I only paid $1400 CAD It is much cheaper to book through an agent and get an all-inclusive package instead of going directly to the resort's homepage and booking
The price is amazing and although it is listed as a three star hotel it should be upgraded! The staff are super, they really make the stay wonderful! This is a good location for familys, young and old. Everyone has a good time together! I plan to go back one day!! Theme: HotelComparison: about averageAddress: Located in the town of Sosua

by Umfufu We were in a nice and clean hotel named : Sand Castle. It was build on a rock and the fiew from the hotelrooms is great. Well you look at an other rock and the sea. But on that rock is a getto build. That doesn't matter, atleast if you can imagine you are in a *** hotel and on that side are living people who do not have one pesos to live from...... But hee that live! When you visite an other third world country you will see that too. from $70 till $120 a night but remember it is all inclusive !!!!!!!
For us the unique thing was the fact that we were sometimes with just the four of us in the hotel. Several months before there was a german plain crashed and there therefor they weren't allowed to fly to the Dominican again. The hotel contains 240 rooms but there were only a few Dutch people and a few from Argentinia. But we had a great time. The staf had all the time for us, and they never get borred. Our friends were there before in the same hotel and they told us that the service and the kindness was the same when it was very busy. Theme: HotelComparison: less expensive than averageDirections: The location was great. On a private beach and on a rock so the swimmingpool was never to hot. by Patricialuv There are many types of beaches located here. Some have some really high tides, others are covered with rock instead of sand, so make sure you know the type of beach you want and get the right hotel that provides it. Theme: Other

by Franberu Even if I stay at my home in Sosua now, I've been to many hotels in the past. I have appreciated a lot the Dorado Naco in Playa Dorada, just outside Puerto Plata. I also stayed in a few hotels in Cabarete. If your budget is low and you want a clean and nice room for a small price go to La Casa Blanca just before the curve at the end of Cabarete. On the South Shore I have tasted the Juan Dolio's Talenquera which is a nice all inclusive hotel with a very good staff. I could go on like this for a few pages but you would'nt have the pleasure to discover! Theme: Pension/Guesthouse

I stayed at the Bahia Principe beach resort in June 2002, we were all inclusive at the resort with all food and drink free including alchol. The resort has 3 swimming pool`s and is located on the beach with over 2k`s of private beach. The resort put`s on activities including, water aerobics, football anf volley ball in which i took part in and had lot`s of fun, although the football did get a bit rough at times especially when the English took on the Spanish. Food is good and the drink is was good as well no stomach trouble for us nor did we hear of any. Theme: HotelComparison: about average

Entertainment nightly at the Barcelo by PlyYoka Amazingly huge complex, Extremely clean. People very friendly. Costant tipping sucks altough it is inclusive, they do ask for tips. Room fairly large. Easy access for getting robbed in your room. Everything must go in safe at a cost of $15.00 pr.wk.
All facicilities are as described on Barcelo internet pages. Someon ransacked our room and stole our camera.$460.00 worth. Hotel does not claim resposibility. 2 Shirts stolen from pool area. Even vacationers can not be trusted. Other than that our stay was very good. Tremendous amount of tours at your beck and call., but register tours outside of hotel at other travel tour groups, much cheaper than hotel. Food becomes monotonous after 3 days. Same old same old. Our stay was for 2 weeks Theme: HotelPrice: US$40-80 » Currency ConverterComparison: less expensive than averageAddress: Near Playa Dorado Beach (Barcelo, Puerto Plata)Phone: 905 544-2334Directions: about 15-20 min. from airport.

Club on the Green Chalet by MartinSelway Caribbean Village Club on the Green is a short 20 minute ride from the Puerto Plata airport on the northern coast of the Dominican Republic. Located in the heart of the Playa Dorada complex, this resort consists of 336 rooms in over 45 two-story, pastel-hued villas. Spread over 16 lush, tropical acres and bordering the championship golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones. Well that’s the official blurb. Our view? Go for it - you won't be disappointed. The staff attitude and service was great. You stay in 2 storey chalet type buildings (see photo). We paid a supplement for a Jnr. Suite which had a larger room with settee. The rooms are great - the air con is essential but didn't run all day due to power shortages! It was a bit disconcerting that they have armed guards at the gated entrance to the complex. You are free to come and go, but must show your wristband at the gate. You can walk the short distance to the beach, or get the hotel shuttle bus. The hotel has it's own area on the beach where they will provide you with free food and drink. There is a sign that says "Guests who go beyond this point - the hotel cannot guarantee your safety"! We didn't have any problems, but you do get hassled by vendors and others asking you to get them food. The country is so poor, that's not surprising.
For sports and activities, Club on the Green has it all including six hard clay tennis courts for day or night play, windsurfing, snorkelling, sailing, archery, volleyball, bicycling and scuba clinics. Rest up for the nightlife by the impressive beach or relax with a cocktail at one of the many bars around the resort. Travelling with children? No problem. The Kid’s Club has a variety of supervised activities to entertain children from 9am to 9pm. Activities, entertainment, great dining, golf, water sports, a nearby casino - welcome to your dream vacation! Room Features: - Air conditioning with individual climate control - Golf or garden view - Ceiling fan - Telephones - Shower and full bath - Safety deposit box ( Not included in the Package ) - Satellite television with remote control ( Available upon request ) - Cribs available upon request The food is buffet style with different chefs cooking things to order e.g. on Italian night you could select what you wanted in your sauce and they cooked it there and then in front of you - you then helped yourself to pasta. The choice and quality of food was always excellent.
