Hotel Colibri is a wonderful simple resort and is perfect for families, couples or singles. The Resort is set in a beautiful manicured garden setting, with a large (junior olympic size pool) in the center. The rooms are spacious and tiled. The garden/pool view rooms are airconditioned and are a few dollars more, the comfort, nice seating area, and the view are well worth it. The general range of rates run in the $45.00- 60.00 range. Limited food and beverage is available. Breakfast is served with an inclusive menu, and also a la carte offerings. Beverage service continues throughout the day, and at night the bar is open. The front office and staff will help with other meals via area restaurants that deliver. El Colibri also offers lessons at a Spanish language school, and can assist with car rental, area activities, etc.
In terms of a nice simple resort, the El Colibri is a little piece of paradise. Speaking for myself, a great pool, comfortable room, and a great view are important. Yet, what really helps make this nice resort nicer has to be the wonderful management and staff. Monique Harpman and her husband serve as the Managing Directors, and every staff member at the resort is friendly, professional, and generally helpful. As a travel professional (ASTA,NTA, ABA, and SYTA member) with a background in hotel sales & marketing and operations (Orlando,Fl.), I can not say enough nice things. I had an excellent stay.
