Modest resort
The Decameron was an average type resort. Rooms clean large with good A/C . Pools nice
Staff very nice . If you tip the bar staff ( 1-2US) they will remember you , what you drink and give you
a proper large Glass not the plastic one. If you like to drink hot tea take bags with you, they seem to have every type except Orange pekoe - Go figure! Nowhere had orange juice , only from crystals
was available, Food was OK except I think it's a standard on the island that they cook everything in somesort of soy oil. And Chicken , pork , beef all has the same taste Hmmmm .
Beach was OK , sea not too rough.
The shows that they put on in the evening are geared more for under 16's.
Casino large by caribean standards but with old machines like you would find and buy at flea markets in north america. The little shops on the resort very inexpensive. Ladies swimsiuts
especially . White rum approx $3 bottle.

Ocean Arc Decameron-Feb2004
My husband and I stayed at the Ocean Arc Decameron in Feb 2004 and really enjoyed our stay. We liked the resort very much. The place was clean and the service was good. We felt like we got our money's worth.
You can walk out to the highway and take the public bus into Boca Chica (to go shopping) for 20 pesos one way -which we did. I'm sure you can get into Santo Domingo on the bus too, and probably for not that much more, maybe 50 pesos one way.

Unique Quality: The resort was large and the rooms were really big. The disco was down by the beach, so the rooms were quiet to sleep in at night. The pool was large and very nice! There is a shaded area where lounge chairs are down in the beach area, away from the vendors, and we practically lived there the whole week. It was peaceful and pretty. The food was good and the drinks were plentiful. Try the "Decameron Special".
