Hotel Mariscal is a a good mid-price option. It's not the Sheraton, but it's clean, comfortable and very safe. The room I stayed in, although it was a bit worn, was very spacious and essentially a self-contained apartment, with a kitchenette, fridge, AC and cable TV. Like many of San Salvador's hotels, it's in Colonia Escalón, a few kilometres to the west of the city centre, but close to many tourist attractions, including the main museums. It's on Paseo Escalón, which is one of the city's main arteries, with plenty of shops and restaurants close by. You can take a bus downtown or a taxi for $5. A double room including continental breakfast cost $60. Theme: HotelPrice: US$40-80 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averagePhone: 503 2298 2844
