Terraza, San Salvador

Best (5.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on September 15, 2007

This is a nice, medium size hotel, perfect for time spent in San Salvador. The rooms are fairly large, attractive and clean. They arrange pickup from the airport (if you request it in advance; be sure to specify exactly how many people are in your party). They have a nice pool area, restaurant, small bar, and attractive entry area. The staff is very accommodating, from those who greet you at the door to the chefs in the kitchen. If you stay for several days they get to know you. I found them all to be very helpful in all regards. The hotel is located on the West side of San Salvador near Paseo Escalon. Within walking distance there are many restaurants. There's a taxi waiting area across from the hotel. I have stayed here off and on on several trips to El Salvador and have found this hotel to be excellent.

Unique Quality: Very attractive pool surrounded by dining area. Excellent accommodations for holiday parties.

Directions: West San Salvador, near Paseo Escalon.

A Fine Hotel With An Exceptional Staff

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on July 24, 2007

After much care in reseach I chose this hotel sight unseen, based on the reviews and picures found on the internet. In the end, I walk away a happy customer. The hotel is a charmer with most of the 80 rooms facing the pool and exquisitely cared for garden courtyard. This area is maintained by a committed staff all day long, literally. The hotel staff fell over themselves smiling and serving my every need. One gal, Stephanie, arranged for a guide to take me around the city. I'm grateful for their attentiveness, hospitality and professionalism. My room was clean and comfortable with a TV and air-conditioning.

But most memorable was the breakfast at the La Veranda hotel located outdoors, in the garden, protected by a roof covering that shielded the hot sun but let the breeze in. Men in uniform bounced around making sure everything was perfect for the guests. They succeeded in every way. I highly recommend the Hotel Terraza. Located in the safe upper-class colonia of Escalon, near two major malls. Within walking distance are several good restaurants and eateries.
