We stayed at the Hotel Christina for 10 nights last month. The room had two twin beds, cable TV and a window AC! While the temperatures were not high the AC at night was a welcome relief to us.
The linens were changed each morning along with soaps & shampoo in the shower. The bathroom was not AC'ed but was OK. There wasn't any hot water although it was warm enough that we didn't miss it. The shower did have a small heater for the shower head, but we didn't use it.
There was a staff member on duty all night every night, this was reassuring and good when our hours for coming "home" were different each day.
There was an open floor above our room which had two hammocks, tables and chairs for our use. Several nights and most mornings found us taking in the views of the city or the stars. The view of the town and surrounding mountains was beautiful.
The hotel was on one of the corners of the town's Mercado. We had a corner room, with walk-out porch, really neat to walk out each morning to see the vendors setting up their stalls. The colors, smells, and variety of wares was new to us, as was the 5:30 am start time daily (7 days a week). Fresh pina' was sold at the booth right below our balcony, wow, you don't get that at home.
We really enjoyed the experience and the opportunity to see life as it is lived.
