Wonderful family run hotel in the heart of Guatemala City. Rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. Food at the hotel was OK but many restaurants in the area to choose from. Service was fast and friendly. Hotel caters to adopting families and has many alcoves, balconies and private sitting areas. Next door to the US Embassy. Very reasonable rates in a great location.
Unique Quality: Very different from the large chain hotels usually found in Guatemala City. Very unique and beautifl layout.
Directions: Next door to the US Embassy
This is how the story goes. So, Ryan meets a girl in Antigua who happens to be from Guatemala City. Mark, the travel planner, realizing that Ryan needs some lovin' books a room in Guatemala City for our last night in the country instead of staying in Antigua.
For $61 bucks a night for a double room, this place is a great bargain. The gated entrance leads to a small reception where were met by a kind man who was willing to give us some restaurant advice before handing us our keys. There is a beautiful inner courtyard that has seating for the hotel's restaurant. When we were here, we talked with two different couples who were staying here because of its close proximity to the US Embassy where they were getting some assistance with some adoption proceedings. The balcony on the front of the hotel is a fantastic place to relax.
Unique Quality: The rooms were very clean, plenty big and the bathrooms were great with wonderful hot water, nice towels and soap and shampoo provided. They even had cable TV which we watched for about 5 minutes before realizing that we were in Guatemala and there was no point in wasting time in front of the television!
Directions: Very near the US Embassy on Avenida La Reforma, Zona 10
