Hotel Westin Camino Real ...

Hotel Westin Camino Real ***** (Large beautiful Hotel)
Hotel Marriot ***** (Nice Hotel)
Hotel Princess **** (Ideal for a couple or a bussiness man)
Hotel Quinta Real ***** (luxurious)
Between US$ 120.00 - US$ 250.00 Every Hotel has a pool, at least one restaurant, every other service you expect in a hotel. I do not recommend to stay in other hotels other than this.
Lovely hotel close to airport
by bkathryn about Westin Camino Real
The Westin Camino Real was a very nice hotel in Zone 10 (Zona Viva) and very near the airport. This was good for arriving and departing - not so good for sleeping! While the hotel had exercise facilities, I never had the opportunity to use them. I did go for a swim one evening, however - the pool was very warm and there was a smaller and hotter pool, which I did not try.
Price noted is about average for the Zona, I suspect.
Mosquito repellent

While in Guatemala City for a conference, we stayed at the lovely Westin Camino Real. The hotel has this lovely courtyard we used for our coffee breaks. But beware of the mosquitoes as they could be carriers of Dengue Fever! Note the mosquito net in the photo.
Guatemala City
by bkathryn
I was in Guatemala City for a week in early February 2003 for an international conference on criteria and indicators of sustainable forest management (work). I was happy to have the opportunity to practice my Spanish a bit! It seems that many people go there (particularly to Antigua) for the language schools. The conference was at one of the nice hotels in Guatemala City: Westin Camino Real - "Classic and full of tradition as Guatemala itself". It was very nice - and Guatemala was a warm and welcome change, even for a brief time, from the very cold winter we've been having in Ottawa.
