Hotel "Café del Sol": Monte Rico's pearl
when you come in you feel and see the wild pacific ocean, you can sit on the terrass or under the shade of a coconat tree, beside the bar or in the restaurant and it's all clean and beautifully built. The rooms are comfortable and are equipped with moskitonet and ventilator. Some have an excellent view. There's a swimmingpool and they serve good food. I've tried almost everything and didnt get disappointed. The owners a swiss-guatemaltecan couple are relaxed and kind people and the music is varied and fine.

Hotels in Monte Rico
There are several hotels and restaurants on the beach. A good recomendation is the (Italian owned) Pez de Oro, nice cottages, with a small swiming pool in front of the beach. Also a good italian restaurant. (Telephone in Guatemala City 73683664)

hotel baule beach: a nice place to stay
i stayed at hotel baule beach.
it's mentioned in the guidebooks as a place full of noisy young people.
that is not true at all.
it was very quiet when i was there.
if you want to party, then go to johnnys place.

Hotel El Mangle: Take it easy
We just looked up hotels in the guide book and this one looked nice to us, so we decided to go here.
And it wasn't a bad mistake at all, small but nice rooms, a porch with a hamock, and a garden with a pool and even more hamock's, just the place to go too if you want to relax.
the beach is just behind the hotel, so the ocean isn't far away, just be carefull, the waves and rips can be lethal. (oh and the black sand is HOT)
