 | Antigua Guatemala Reviews | Tips 51 - 60 of 87 | | Just came back (summer 2008) from backpacking around Central America and finished my trip in Antigua, Guatemala, and stayed at Dos Loros Inn. HOtel stay was great, I promised them I'd write a great review because they really went the extra mile for me. After staying in some pretty 3rd world hotels in El Salvador, staying in Dos Loros Inn was great, just like home or even better. Huge rooms, the bathroom alone was alarger than most of the other hotel rooms you'll find in Central America, and not just a shower but a fullsized full bathtub. After walking on Antigua's cobblestone streets all day a hot bath is just what I needed, and you almost never find bathtubs in CA. It was great@!
Super clean, huge bathtubs, great view of the volcano taht everyone talks about. I was traveling on the cheap and try to avoid eating in restaurants all the time so having a nice clean kitchen to use to cook dinner in was great, and the manager, Marleni, helped me with the cooking! This hotel is simply stunning. We stayed in a double room off the main courtyard. Breakfast is included in the price and is very good. The staff are all helpful and friendly and the hotel has a wonderful calm atmosphere. Just take a look at their website (address below) to see some great photos. Definately a super place to stay for a treat.
El Meson Panza Verde has a beautiful lap pool, Art Gallery and roof terrace, with an great view of the volcano. The hotel also has an excellant restaurant. Antigua is the most expensive place in Guatemala, which also includes accomodation. This is the cheapest hostel (Q$ 35) in town... nothing trendy, just some cheap and dark rooms where you leave your stuff and come back at night to have some sleep. There's a kitchen available, although it's tiny! Some books and magazines... nothing very special, like I said... just to spend the night. 5 rooms, two of which share bathroom. They are all really nice rooms, all facing the courtyard. They have a tiny pool which is nice, as well as a sauna that takes 45 minutes to get going. Every morning, abuelita and her grandchild serve a continental style breakfast, fresh juice, cafe, yogurt and fruit with bread and cookies and of course jam and butter. $82 US dollars with taxes etc.. The owner may be looking to sell, so check to see if Alexandra or Bette is still there. They were incredibly gracious. The hotel is in a quiet area, next to Meson Panza Verde, at 5 Avenida Sur #21, Antigua Guatemala, + 502 7832 0182, + 1 203 987 5501

Hotel primavera was quiet, but very close to the bus station and only 5 minutes from town center. Clean and friendly. very good deal for travellers on a tight budget that want a safe, clean and comfortable place in Antigua.
Sit a night on the roof, watch stars and the glowing vulcano. Leave a Comment Theme: HotelPrice: less than US$20 » Currency ConverterComparison: less expensive than averageAddress: Antigua GuatemalaDirections: Close t o the busstation |
As a travel professional, and former hotelier, I really enjoyed this 19th Century coverted hotel. If you are looking for reasonable rates, cleanliness, and friendly management and staff, this is the place! Safe parking for cars. Breakfast served.
