Stately colonial mansion....

Ana Maria's house was built around 1400 AD. Only three bedrooms, a staff of 4, homemade breakfasts (be sure to try her chocolate caliente), lush courtyard garden, individual fireplaces in each bedroom and views of the surrounding volcanoes make this B&B a very special place to stay. It was like staying at someone's home. Forget staying at one of the Disney-esque hotels in Antigua - my staying here made Antigua a more personal experience.

Unique Quality: My bedroom had a king size bed, fire place, walkin closets, huge modern bathroom and private patio garden. The breakfasts were simple but good - french toast, huevos rancheros, fresh fruit juices, chocolate caliente. Sitting in the courtyard garden reading in the morning, church bells ringing. The central park is only 1 1/2 blocks away (unlike Casa Santo Domingo, Panza Verde and Hotel Antigua which which were all a good distance from the center of town). I'll stay here again next time I'm in Antigua.
