Hotel Posada Del Hermano Pedro

I spent four nights at this hotel, booked on Internet at 50$ for a single (in a 2-bed room) - though rates for 2008 have increased (to 60$). The hotel's location is excellent, only 3 blks from the main square. Although the street is quite busy, all the rooms are toward the back and therefore very quiet. The entrance-way is nicely decorated with an old wagon and lots of flowers. There is also a nice sitting room with TV. The rooms, on two stories, are rather large and have wooden floors and colonial furniture. All are equipped with cable TV and private bathroom/shower. Generous buffet breakfast (featuring hot and cold food) in a bright room is included. The only drawback to this hotel is that it is rather gloomy. The rooms only have windows which open onto the patio, so very little natural lights gets in. Nevertheless, the hotel represents a good deal for Antigua.

Unique Quality: The hotel is VERY quiet...guaranteeing a good night's sleep. It is also very close to an interesting Sunday outdoor market (in front of Las Capuchinas church).

Directions: One block north and two east from Parque Central.
