Very nice hotel on the beach

Update 2011: This hotel has new owners and the reviews have been pretty bad. I haven't visited it in several years so strongly suggest you check newer reviews to see what it is like with the new owners. I hope they can get their act together because the location is so nice. In the meantime, I'll suggest you look at Manoir Alexandra although I haven't been there post-earthquake and they do not have private baths. Other reviewers have suggested the Hotel Florita in Jacmel.

This is a lovely hotel right on the beach. They have a pool overlooking the ocean with a swim-up bar. There are steps down to the beach and the surf is usually very good.

The Jacmelienne is the most modern hotel in Jacmel, although probably not the most charming but you really can't beat the location if you want the ocean at your doorstep. It has all the modern conveniences and the service is excellent.

Unique Quality: The view can't be beat. You are right on the ocean. It's a short walk into town with art galleries and craft shops.

Don't stay at the Jacmelienne...

Don't stay at the Jacmelienne unless you want this view of the beach! And it's expensive as well! ($55 USD for a double)
