 | Copán Reviews | Tips 1 - 10 of 21 | | this hotel is located smack bang in the centre of town, a few steps away from the plaza. it doesnt look like much from the outside, from the street front its a simple arch that steps into a small courtyard. but it has a charm about it, is safe, and very comfortable. while not flashy, it is clean and well run, and the family that runs it were helpful in any way. Don't worry too much about where to stay the night. When your bus arrives there are enough locals willing to show your their hotel. Make sure you bargain on the price! Especially in situations where a lot of people are trying to talk you into their place you have a great opportunity to work on the price! Leave a Comment Theme: Hotel |
In the village Copan Las Ruinas we stayed two nights in hotel Patty. Actually it was the first hotel we saw when we entered the town. Hotel Patty is a two storey hotel with rooms around an inner courtyard, where you can also park your car. The hotel itself was OK, though nothing very special. The rooms were clean and had a private toilet and shower. Extra blankets were provided because the nights were chilly during our visit in december. The hotel has no restaurant, so for breakfast and meals we went out. There are many lovely restaurants within a few blocks, even in the same street. Our breakfast we had just opposite the hotel. In the reception you can book tours to the hot springs 'Agua Calientes' by pick up or to a mountain village by horse. The ruins at the Copan Site, the main reason to come here, are at walking distance. This is a great and centrally located place to stay. The small, but clean and nice rooms are all located around a nice patio, where you sit and chat to other travellers.
The bathrooms are shared and there are landry facilites (by hand, no mashines). I paid 100 lempira for a double room. (They had no single rooms availeble, so I had to pay the price of a double). Muy bueno, y exelente servicio
As many Hotels in dowtown area of the small village of Copan Ruins it is located at the center plaza of the village, near by the cathedral, with 20 fully equiped bedrooms, restorant and swiming pool and a bar area. A.C. in all bedrooms and Cable T.V. Very well located. Leave a Comment |
The 'Via Via' is a meeting place for travelers. This café is part of the now international network of Flemish Via Via cafés (Kathmandu , Leon, Zanzibar, Leuven, Yogyakarta, Dakar, Antwerpen, Cataluña, Copan, Arusha). In the most of the cafés you'll also find cheap, but very good accomodation. Also in Copan ruinas. In the restaurant you'll find a big menu with dishes from all over the world for a relatively good price (still a bit expensive to Hondurean standards). Leave a Comment |

Great service in the sense that I was not bothered at all. Only Spanish speaking staff which was kind of fun and helpful for proping up my Spanish. Facilities were nothing special but were there to use. TV cable opened the Central America reality to me - only white faces, please!
Nothing outstanding exept for the location - right by the stop where the bus from Antigua Guatemala arrives. One can reach the ruins on foot but this is valid for practically every other hotel in Copan - it is very small place. Wonderful 10 room bed and breakfast. Run by Howard and family. They treat you so nice and give great tips and make a wonderful breakfast with fruits and coffee. Some of the things they made were crepes, waffles and eggs. The rooms are clean and cozy, very basic, no television. Shower worked good. The place is located about 5 minute walk to central square. Very recommended. Great views from their peaceful garden that all the rooms overlook. |
