Hotel Santa Eduviges: Pretty somber
The most famous hotel in town is the hotel Elvir, but it looked too "businessy" to me, so I went to the hotel Sta. Eduviges, one block away. The heavy front door was locked, but someone hurried to unlock it from the inside, and I had the impression I was interrupting a solemn family council. The common areas were quite grand for a $14 a night hotel.
The room was fine and quiet, with no air conditioning (none needed, truly), but with an elliptical fan. The bathroom was somewhat gross, with that certain "look" that bathrooms get when they are repainted more often than deeply scrubbed down. The shower was feeble.

Hospedaje Calle Real: Cheap hostel
I stayed here 2 nights. It is a very basic place with shared bathrooms. The rooms are ok, but my bed was very very soft and the bathrooms weren't that clean.
But still, it was very cheap, I only paid 35 limpira for a single room, and to that price I think it is ok.
