Looking for Bus Schedules
by yunacorn
I'm inquiring about buses in San Pedro Sula. I've been looking on the web for specific bus schedules and rates but having a hard time finding them. Any advice on finding one from San Pedro sula to the Copan Ruins?

The Hedman Alas bus line is the safest in the country. Also comfortable and generally on time (+/- a few minutes). You will find them on the web at http://www.hedmanalas.com/index.htm
For other bus options you can check the Transportation Guide section of Honduras Tips Magazine http://www.hondurastips.honduras.com/ (its the Guia de Transporte link in red) The servicio a escala buses are the true Honduran experience. Rarely chickens but definitely three crammed in the seat of a school bus which was retired out of the US schools systems 20 years ago, stops every 100 meters or so, the not infrequent breakdown and the less frequent robbery (you'll save money on the ride if you make it there).
Enjoy Honduras!

San Pedro Sula

Whenever you are travelling through Honduras, you cannot do it without visiting San Pedro Sula for at least once. The city in the northeast of the country is the biggest after the capital Tegucigalpa, and it the most important transportation-hub in the region.
Besides the busstations, San Pedro Sula doesn't have many interesting things to offer, and it is advised not to wander around the city after dark because it is said to be quite dangerous. That is why I didn't see anything else then the busses and the filthy hotel I stayed in.
From "SPS" I took busses to almost all directions: I arrived from Copán in the west, went to Tela in the east. And after coming back from Tela, I took the long-distance bus via Tegucigalpa to Managua in Nicaragua.

I have traveled to San Pedro Sula over thirty times over the past eight years on business. Overall the people are friendly and the food is excellent. There is plenty to do in the city- lots of restaurants and shopping. The culinary diversity is amazing for a developing country.
