Service is great. Great Food, Great Bar, Centrally Located. I have stayed at the Hilton Princess and it was too pricey for what you get.
Also, make you reservation with an online service such as Continental, Expedia, etc., otherwise when you get here they will either be full or charge you $125. Don't pay more than $85.

We are conveniently located near Central Park, Centro Cultural SPS theater, the Expo Center Convention Center, SPS University and Aquamundo water park.
Our room had a balcony overlooking the plaza and at night we enjoyed the locals as they cathered for a romantic strool.
Just not too romantic were the local police armed with their big guns patroling the streets... but if you can overlook that, it was a nice evening afterall.
We stayed a couple of nights as we waited til Monday when we were to take a bus ride to Guatemala. It was a lot of fun!
Unique Quality: Plaza, Balconies and restaurant on premises.

The Gran Hotel Sula has very neat and recently renovated rooms, an awesome pool with a waterfall, two great restaurants and a bar. All of this is directly downtown in front of Central Park which is close to many great restaurants! Try to get a room that faces the pool instead of the street. The street side rooms tend to be noisy. Also the beds are too firm for my liking.
Unique Quality: I highly recommend the food at the Skandia located just outside the lobby between the lobby and pool. They have the BEST fresh squeezed orange juice and it is about the only place that stays open 24 hours. Breakfast comes free with the room and it is not just a continental breakfast. Try the beans with scrambled eggs!!! Awesome.
There is free wireless internet in the rooms.

Hotel Gran Sula is quite a nice place.
Gran Hotel Sula: Tourist Superior Class
Located downtown and in front of the Central Plaza Park. They have a small swimming pool, 24 hours cafeteria, restaurant and bar, and fitness-center. All rooms have a private bath, A/C, and cable TV. There are 128 rooms.
$95 to $120 a day for a double. Suites are available up to $150 night.
The Gran Hotel Sula is centrally located in downtown San Pedro Sula, just across the street from the Parque Central. The eight-story hotel has 115 rooms with air conditioning, cable television, direct-dial international telephone service, and private balconies.
The hotel supposedly underwent renovations in January 2008, but I saw no evidence of that in March 2008, and I felt it was rather run down. Part of the renovations included the addition of flat screen televisions, new curtains and bed covers in the rooms, and a complete make-over of the swimming pool area. The Gran Hotel Sula has an outdoor swimming pool, but it is rather small. During my stay, the pool area was very crowded with guests and their screaming children.
Dining options include the Café Skandia which has the atmosphere of an old American diner, and the Grenada Restaurant which features local and international cuisine. The Bar Oro Verde is a nice place to relax over a drink.
The hotel also has a business center with internet access and conference facilities.

The nicest place I remember in San Pedro Sula is the Gran Hotel Sula. It is right on the central square.
