Hotel Utila: Comfortable Hotel on edge of town
After a few very humid days in Roatan I decided to pamper myself. I found the Hotel Utila while walking through town and was not disapointed. The rooms are very large, with well equipped and maintained bathrooms and air conditioning units which keep the rooms nice and cool. The beds were comfortable with excellent bedding and pillows.
The hotel in a bit on the south side of town so its very quiet and peaceful but still only a few minutes walk into the main part of the village.
The staff were friendly and helpful and agreed to move me to another rom when the satellite TV in my first room would not work.
Unique Quality: Quiet and clean yet close enough to restaurants.

Utila Water Sports student house: A cheap place to sleep and cook
This place is a pretty large house.
2 bathrooms, a big kitchen and nice beds.
Theres a large place outside to sit and hang out in the evenings.
The place is only for students at Utila WaterSports. We only paid 3$ pr night.
A superb place if you're the social type.
Unique Quality: Chilled-out, No noise, nice people.

Underwater Vision: A chilled place
Actually this was a divingschool as well which provide free accomodation when you do your open water course there. We came with two friends who decided to signed up for their course here and that's why we were allowed to stay.
It's a real chilled placed with sundecks over the water, hammocks everywhere, a communal kitchen with fridge and weekly barbecues! Real good parties!
They only have 4 bed dorms.
As long as you're coming in low season it probably won't be a problem to stay here without diving but in high-season it probably is a different story.
Don't worry too much... there are enough other chilled places around... just walk around, they're all located at one street.
$4,- p.p excl. meals, while diving it's free acoomodation

Cooper's Cabins: Home away from home :)
Cooper's Cabins has it all. There are private cabins with 2 bed rooms; a living room with TV, stereo, couches; and a full kitchen (with fridge!). The price during the off season can be as low as $15 per cabin (that's about $4 USD each if you share it among 4)! For the sole traveller, you can also spend the night at a dorm for not much more, roughly $3-5 USD. The dorms have an outside kitchen.
Unique Quality: After months on the road, it came as a nice change of pace :).
