Tegucigalpa

Tegucigalpa is the capital of the country, but many tourists avoid this area. Because of insavety and just because there's not much to see. I stayed here lets say about a week and I have to say they're wright! There is almost nothing to see, it's a very dirty city and well about savety...I think its still saver than for example San Pedro Sula, but also here you have to be carefull.

"Honduras"
This is a picture from Comayagua about 2 hours north of Tegucigalpa. Honduras is the 3rd poorest country in the western hemisphere. That becomes very apparent when venturing out among the countryside. Driving is somewhat dangerous, and theft is the biggest problem. I didn't have any troubles and stayed at the intercontinental in Teguc, and it was very nice and across the street from a Mall and TGIF and Tony Romo's restaurant. I saw a lot of missionary travelers while I was there and they seemed well received. Overall, not a great trip because of my work schedule and lack of free time.

"Tegucigalpa ... Heart of Honduras"
Hello everybody ! Welcome to my Tegucigalpa VT Page. I spent two wonderful months in Tegucigalpa this summer. Tegucigalpa is located in the department of Francisco Morazan in the central part of Honduras. It is surrounded by mountains. This makes Tegucigalpa one of the cities of Honduras with the nicest weather all year round. Tegucigalpa combines its 'Colonial Architecture' with the modern aspects of their buildings today. Nowadays, Tegucigalpa is a modern city with a lot of things to do and places to visit [ Museums, Malls, Movies, Theathers, Churches, Discotecs, etc ]. Enjoy the nation's capital TEGUCIGALPA ! ... More pics and info. coming soon !
