The best steak in town

by stewart1234567

I have stayed at the Splash Inn for many years as, for me, it is the only place to stay in West End.
I love looking out over the sea as I take my breakfast in the morning. Lovely fresh fruit salad whilst I catch up on my mail with their free wifi. Usually in the evening I dine out at one of the many restaurants, but on my way out last night I saw the chef at the barbecue cooking some massive steaks. He said that they were beef tenderloin and that they were as tender as you can get. I decided to try one for dinner and what a steak it was. Fantastic and it was as much as I could eat - and the cost was lower than any of the other restaurants I have eaten in here. Now I know why so many of the locals dine at the Splash Inn Restaurant. As always I will be back and next time I will try something else from their extensive menu that ranges from pizzas to lobster, Lovely place, lovely people. No wonder why I love Roatan, the secret jewel of the Caribbean.

Great restaurant and dock to sunbathe on

Splash Inn Dive Resort: Great location & Value right on the Roatan Beach!

by Natalllya

Although I didn't choose Splash Inn for it's diving, I still found it to be a great choice. If you love diving, you'll be steps from it. The location is fabulous. Right in West End, you are a walk away from stores, bards, restaurants and the beach. The area has a small town feel with an exotic, tropical twist to it. The hotel looks great. The rooms are clean and neat and not a decent size. Staff is friendly and helpful. There's a restaurant in the lobby, it overlooks the turquoise seas and gorgeous sites. Great experience!

Don Udo's Hotel and Restaurant: Great value, charming hotel in Copan!

by Natalllya

I loved my stay at Don Udo's!
The hotel is in a great location. It's absolutely charming! Great rooms, beautiful courtyard/garden, good restaurant, it's just adorable! The price is great as well. Everything about this place is just cute! The staff is courteous and friendly as well. Don Udo himself pitches in and helps out the front desk staff when needed.

I would LOVE to go back to this place!

La Ceiba Beach Club: Beach bungalow in La Ceiba!

by Natalllya

I rented a house on the beach. I absolutely loved my stay at the house! The house is adorable with it's wood furniture and cleverly used space. You can hear the waves of the ocean hitting the beach as you sleep at night, best rest you'll ever get. La Ceiba is the central location for many activities so staying here enabled me to travel to Cayos Cohinos, Roatan, Pico Bonito and even to Copan for a few nights. The beach is really close but it's very rocky so bring your water shoes. It's a very relaxing and easy going stay.

Right by the ocean but the beach isn't spectacular and its really rocky so you need water shoes to get in,.

Balcony suite: The best of the Pearl

by heavenlydee

We were, ALL, treated like royalty.. Although room service took a while, everything, and everybody else were superb... Rooms cleaned and refilled each day.. Beds turned down at night... The service was fabulous, in every way..

The views were one of a kind.. The employees knew me by my name...lol... It's hard forgetting me, after the first encounter...lol... They had it all... Restaurants that covered every ethnicity.. More food than you could ever imagine.. And FABULOUS, at that...
They had something for everyone, of every age, of every race, of every taste... You could NEVER run out of things to do...

Foster Resort: There is always something better

by boricuajc

Foster's on West Bay is on an excellent location in West Bay. This is where the pros ends. Fosters is in need of a major make-over. As soon as you open the door to one of the rooms you realize you have made a mistake on your island accommodations. The rooms are aged. No TV, No radio. I was surprised that the AC worked efficiently. The first night at Fosters I was awaken by crabs and a giant roach in my room. I soon found out that the shower drains directly into a swamp in the back of the cabana and this was the source of where the roaches were getting into the rooms. A wet wash clothe into the drain at night solved the roach problem.

Location, Location. Fosters Resort sits on the best beach in Roatan Island and my cabana was approximately 25 feet from the beach and about 15 feet from Anemona Divers, Dive shop.

Little Cay: Private Heaven in Honduras

by Sheilakee

If you REALLY want to get away from it all, this private island in the Bay of Honduras is perfect. The island is approx one acre, with a main house, a small guest house and a small shack for the generator. Stove and fridge gas powered, indoor plumbing with cistern water (bring drinking water)

House is lovely, island is fabulous. You really feel like you're alone in paradise - palm trees, pelicans, hermit crabs and you. Totally private, with people just a radio call away (make sure the radio works before the manager leaves) You're cell phone will probably work, although I doubt you'll turn it on.

Pick up your supplies on Utila before heading out (Bush's supermarket has everything - don't buy beef!) Fridge is not huge but there was a large cooler for beer.

Upstairs in main house has two double beds, one single in a nice breezy room, downstairs is a double bed but the room can be hot out of the breeze. Guest house sleeps three but doesn't look as breezy.

This is as remote as I could have hoped for. It's not for everyone! Make sure you really get along with your travel partners because not everyone likes that much quiet.

To watch the sun rise and set on your own island is an experience everyone should have once in their life. The snorkeling is unbelievable and very safe, even if you've never snorkeled before.

Henry Morgan: Henry Morgan Resort -- a good deal

by webdog

I enjoyed it here. It was all-inclusive, smack-dab on a beautiful beach. Good eats, entertainment, comfy accomodations.

Hotel Presidente: Reasonable mid-price option in Tela

by iwys

Hotel Presidente is a reasonable place to stay in Tela. It's opposite Parque Central, in the town centre, about a 5-minute walk from the beach. The 39 rooms have AC and TV, but they vary in standard. Try to get one overlooking the swimming pool. A double room, with swimming pool view, costs $50. Breakfast is not included.

Tip Photo
Seagrape Plantation Resort: Great hotel in Roatán

by iwys

The Seagrape Plantation Resort was the best hotel I stayed in during my travels in Central America. The 22 rooms are bright, spacious and very comfortable. There is a great swimming pool and a dive shop. It is best for couples as the rooms cost $55 per night for single or double occupancy. There are discounts for stays of 5 nights or longer and they also offer dive/hotel packages.
